You must be pretty good at sewing if you quilt, no?? I can't sew in a straight line to save my life.

I have to laugh at that. My first quilt was an absolute wreck. I learned along the way and went to quilt clubs and other experienced quilters. It took several years for my quilts to suit me. So, keep trying to sew in a straight line. It's more fun to Not sew in a straight line

Yeah, it kind of goes in cycles with me. I have been away from quilting for a while and just started up again. It's nice to take a break from things, at least for me.

Yes, they are great to help keep a 1/4 inch seam. I usually sew a slight quarter inch, which works out better for me. Everyone has to figure out what works best for them with their machine. The walking foot is a wonderful tool too for thicker sewing.

Wow, 5000 pieces!! Jigsaws got me through lockdown but I stuck to 1000 pieces

I enjoy the challenge. And it's got to the "I will finish this even if it kills me " stage.
Half the problem is the physical size of the puzzle and having somewhere to do it.

I can't crochet but not too bad at the knitting. I knit this christening shawl for my granddaughter, took about six weeks. I like how it turned out but I'd rather stick to smaller projects!
