It won't affect mine. Except that I will have less money to spend elsewhere, I guess. However I drive to WDW. It used to cost me about $30 to fill up my gas tank, yesterday it cost me $46. But that still only adds about $60 total to my WDW costs.

That's when I'm going!!

The best fare right now is $208 on Midwest Express. I would love to fly ME--2 across seating and chocolate chip cookies, but would prefer Southwest for $150.

I understand it will not affect people live with in a gas tank or 3 of disney. but when a person like myself who lives in PA, has to buy 4 plane tickets. it cost me 650 total last year and as of now it will cost me 1300. thats alot. and may have to cancel vacation this year. also with the added cost of putting fuel in 2 cars each week there is no place to make up for the added airfare.

Won't impact my Nov/Dec vacation. I already booked a package that included the air. Sun County non-stop from MN for round trip was $174 per person when I booked. Looking forward to my first holiday at Disney!!

You guys really don't know you're born when it comes to gas prices - we're currently paying just under £1 a litre for fuel - thats about $1.71. :(

I know, I know...

We've been told for YEARS that we have it great in the US and that gasoline is outrageous in Europe.

(did you all catch that the price is per liter--not per gallon as we are accustomed to. There are approximately 4 liters in a gallon.)

What we were also told was that things are much closer together over there, so gasoline goes farther.

(OK--my elementary teachers weren't necessarily the brightest--most of them were married to school administrators.)

We were going to drive from Columbus, OH to save $$$ now we are looking at flying and renting. We would about break even for four tickets to fly over gas prices. Silly ain't it?

We too are keeping close tabs. Like others have said, when you begin paying $2.80 a gallon (thats what it is now) and my husband drives 120+ miles daily for work (no expense account) so that gas money eats up your expendable income. We will either drive or fly depending on airfare when we can actually set our final dates.

* we have friends who live in Jersey, small island overall high costs (compared to the midwest). Still doesnt' make it any easier at the pumps knowing others have it worse, does it.

I personaly emailed George Bush and stated that since I pay his salary, I could pretty much say what I wanted. Especialy since I voted for him in 2000. I let him know that I personaly don't think he has did one good thing for this country the whole time he has been in. Also, I said that he could at least do one decent thing for the American people and cut all federal, state, and local taxes on gasoline. That would save the people on average of about 72 cents a gallon. More if you live in South Carolina or North Carolina. If he did that, I would take back 1/4 of all the bad things I have said about him. But we all know Hell will freeze over before he does anything good for the people.

No - it doesn't affect our vacation. We still live it up! But of course, I'd love it if prices were cheaper. Who doesn't love to save $$?! We're flying Midwest Air and got a pretty good deal but not as good as a couple years ago, and we booked just as early.

I feel bad for those who can't go at all. Especially bigger families - airfare can tap you out before you even get there. And sometimes driving just isn't an option.

Hopefully, we'll get a break on gas prices one of these days..but I'm not holding my breath.

Ahem...I hate when people assume that everyone shares their political convictions. Personally, the only thing I can concur with is that the gas taxes should be lowered or done away with. On all else, I'm polar opposite.

One more thing...if you really want gas taxes lowered, you should be e-mailing your congressmen and women, who actually make and vote for legislation. That goes for your state congressmen and women as well, since a large portion of the gas taxes happen at the state level. The president doesn't actually have the power to just do whatever he wants.

If only it were that simple.

Gas taxes exist for a reason, and that revenue is used for something.

In most states, it's highway maintenance.

If gas taxes are cut, then maintenance will be non-existent.

...and if you've ever driven I-70 between St. Louis and Kansas City, it would be hard to imagine the road getting even less attention and repair!
