Every single day both for running and bike. It helps me with setting goal. I did a 5k not to long ago and started our fast with the young kids. The gps helped me watch my speed and adjust.

I got the FR60, that isn't GPS enabled, but has the foot pod accelerometer, heart rate monitor and ant+ stick. Once it's calibrated, it's almost the same as having a GPS watch, without the hassle of needing a signal, which means I can run indoors as well.

I really like it...you can set the pace you want to run, and it will tell you if you are ahead of or behind that pace. It also tracks my heart rate, and pauses itself automatically if I have to stop at a light, etc, - so my overall pace isn't affected.

I have the Forerunner 305 and I love it.

I also have the foot accelerometer so I can use it indoors - or outdoors on a treadmill :) if I have to.

The software that comes with the unit got all hosed up and will not work. I don't know if I lost all the runs I had stored in there or not - I have not reinstalled it yet. However, I also upload all my runs to Garmin Connect, which is their online service. I have no problems with that.

The 305 comes with a heart rate monitor which can come in handy. It is easy to use right out of the box for tracking runs, but if you really get into it, there is a lot of nice training and logging features that it can do.

I have a 305 too, and LOVE it. It's tough to run outside without it now. I brought it with me on my vacation to Miami and went to use it on my first run and the battery was dead, it was very disappointing. I had to take out my car to measure the distance after the run, just like old times.

I have the 305 as well. I don't hit the asphalt without it. I changed the strap to a wider velcro sport strap which is MUCH better than the standard watch buckle that comes with it.

There are so many options with this unit that it can be overwhelming.

My main screen is Pace / Time / Distance

2nd Screen: Time of day / Heading / Sunrise / Sunset

3rd Screen: Best Pace / Distance / Avg Pace / Calories

I also have it set up to AutoPause when I stop if there's a traffic light or what-have-you.

I love it.

I have the 405. I use it anytime I run outdoors. Works great. I just need to remember to dump it to the computer every now and then.

Which is particulary difficult when you run in the park like I do. Running over all those people on picnics just brings bad karma.

I don't have the Garmin (yet), but I've been using my iphone with runkeeper.com and it's pretty damn good for an app. They have a great website, too.
