Garden Grill Not Rotating

[There areQUOTE="cw1982, post: 6114152, member: 96233"]Perhaps for you, but if people are booking ADR's for the novelty of eating in a rotating restaurant, then for them it may be a dealbreaker if the rotation isn't happening. [/QUOTE]
There are so many great restaurants at Epcot, I just want to make sure our family receives the full experience. We've eaten at Garden Grill easily seven times and enjoy what the restaurant has to offer. I made my reservations 180 days out. If it stopped rotating the day we arrived that would be a different topic, but this appears to be an ignored repair.

I could honestly care less if the restaurant rotated or not! The food and character interaction is the main draw for us!

Whew! I am glad people could care less about the Garden Grill not rotating. I would be very concerned if anyone couldn't care less because then it would be indicative of a completely apathetic attitude concerning the main selling point of the Garden Grill. I mean, really, Garden Grill is not known for it's 5 star food, but is known for its rotation and views of seeing LwtL. The fact that people "could" care less shows that they care "some" about the non-rotational aspect of eating at the Garden Grill. As we all know, caring "some" is better than not caring at all.

I mean yes it does suck that it's not rotating but I'm not gonna cancel my ADR for it just because of that! The food is great there, service as well. It also has, IMO, one of the best character interactions for a meal!

Like some others have stated, I do not dine there solely because it rotates. I go for the other stuff. I know that even if it doesn't rotate when I go there, I will still have an awesome time regardless. It's just not a deal breaker for me...

So you go there for the $40 turkey and mashed potatoes? Go you. It is now Boston Market with Mickey Mouse.

There is a good bit more than just turkey and mashed potatoes.

Basket of Warm Bread with Maple Butter, “Living with the Land” Harvest-inspired Farmer’s Salad, Char-grilled Filet of Beef with Red Wine Sauce, Roasted All-Natural Turkey Breastwith Lemon Caper Sauce, Sustainable Fish of the Daywith Roasted Tomato and Pepper Compote, Garden Fresh Vegetables, Buttermilk Mash Potatoes, Artisan Bread Pudding, Fresh-baked Harvest Skillet Cakewith Vanilla Bean Whipped Cream.

I found the meal to be very good!

Calm down people we can disagree with each other here. We all have different points of views. :D

Just got back about two weeks ago. Was there in January and the restaurant was rotating. The server explained it as "Chip and Dale got an acorn stuck in the gears, so we're not rotating tonight." We had a lovely table overlooking a scene from Living with the Land. Character interaction was plentiful and the food was delicious.

Hopefully the rotation returns soon, but it may require the entire restaurant close for rehab. I would expect that to happen during a time when there is no free DDP. Is there such a time anymore?

Almost willing to bet this could be the issue. It could be someone that slipped and fell when getting off of the moving floor and its down until further investigation. I dont see how but anything is possible. Even Jiminy Cricket agrees with that!:D

Im sure if a bearing or motor went out you just cant run down to Ace Hardware Store and pick up a new one. Not to mention what all has to come apart to replace a bad component. The Flux Capacitor and the 1.21 jigawatts that is required to make this restaurant rotate is quite complicated.

For folks keeping score, I found a post on another site claiming the restaurant hasn't moved since at least the end of March.
I made a backup ADR for my October trip, just in case. We have several other character meals, and there are other Epcot restaurants that I want to try if we're not going to get the full experience here. We'll do Garden Grill on another trip.

I guess ultimately, it's down to what is most important to you PERSONALLY about eating at Garden Grill.

We will be going in November with our 3 year old, whether it's rotating or not. The character interaction is wonderful, and we found the food to be very good. However if it was just myself and my husband, we might think twice. Obviously the character interaction would be less important, and the novelty of the restaurant rotating would be a bigger draw.

To each their own :)

I have eaten there only once and the DWF and I were just in awe. The Resteraunt rotated extremely slow and we seen parts of the land that made the dinning expereince really fun. Then throw in the characters and we had a greaat time. Now we both love Turkey and all the traditional sides and were so happy and love eating there. We are planning to make ADR's for this coming October and look forward being there. I do hope it will be rotating but if it did not I would only be disapointed if the food was not as good as it was on our first visit. Lastly I love the Land Pavillion and hope they take care of this special place in EPCOT.

Every restaurant has a gimmick. It would be like going to eat at Cali Grill and they had painted over all the windows.
Ditto. I personally won't eat at Crystal Palace if I can't get a pre park opening ADR. The ONLY reason I'm stepping foot in H&V is they have Sofia breakfast.
I'm far from mad.

I think ultimately we have seen the last of the rotation. Soon they will stop using veggies from the boat ride and they will just be props. They will require extra $ for prime seats.

The rotation is set to complete about one full revolution per meal. Depending on how fast you eat. From my memory I think we only completed about one go around.

After you eat and get stuffed on the awesome dessert get up and walk once around the dining area to enjoy a 360 degree view.

Problem solved.

If Windows have been painted bring paint scrapper.
