Garden Grill Not Rotating

The rotating is indeed one of the major reasons to pay $40 to eat here. We just canceled our resie here for 2 weeks from now and booked Chefs de France. Very happy we had access to this info. Disney should really tell people.

Great, this is awesome, yet another 80's attraction that would be compromised. I guess the prime views will be sold as first class seats, therefore higher prices. Gotta love it!

I guess it would be even worse if it were still called 'The Good Turn' like it used to be...the 'turn' part would surely be an ironic part of the name.

Seriously though, I really hope this gets fixed soon as I'd not want to go without the rotating and being able to enjoy the LWTL scenes.

I don't agree that the restaurant not rotating should allow people to cancel their ADRs without penalty. As we all know, nothing is guaranteed by Disney to be operational. But do people really go mainly because the restaurant turns?o_O I would think the characters and the food would all be much more important. It is not as if it turns that quickly, you can barely notice it.

As a kid, my parents would allow us to each choose one restaurant to make ADRs at, and I would always choose Garden Grill because I thought it was SO cool that it rotated. So yes, there are people who mainly go because the restaurant turns! I certainly wouldn't say it's barely noticeable, I think it's quite neat passing by the different scenes as you're dining. Yes, nothing at Disney is guaranteed to be operational - but if a ride goes down or has missing effects, you can simply choose to get on something else. By that same logic, if the rotation of the restaurant is down, I don't think there should be a penalty if you would prefer to choose somewhere else to eat.

If true, I hope it goes back to its good ol' ways soon! Excited to eat here for the first time since childhood (miss that menu too...mac & cheese, dirt cups!) I would indeed be disappointed and rethink our reservation if it's not rotating... :cautious:

It's not an omnimover! LOL

I could honestly care less if the restaurant rotated or not! The food and character interaction is the main draw for us!

Was there on Weds night and it was not rotating. It might be a maintenance issue but I did not see anything that looked like anyone was working on it. All the moving parts are underneath and out of sight.

Amazed on how many are willing not to have a great buffet just because the place doesn't rotate. Food, service and the character interaction is awesome. Rotating dining area is okay but its not like the most amazing thing ever.

Perhaps for you, but if people are booking ADR's for the novelty of eating in a rotating restaurant, then for them it may be a dealbreaker if the rotation isn't happening. Like so many other aspects of planning a vacation, this is yet another thing that people feel differently about. Like I said before, there are plenty of other character meals available; the rotation is what makes this one different. So I can definitely see why some feel strongly about making other plans when that aspect goes away (even if temporarily... if it's not rotating when they are there, it doesn't do that guest any good for it to be rotating again six months later).

Hah! @HRHPrincessAriel we posted at the same time... I swear I wasn't copying your wording ;)
