Analyst asks about ESPN

Bob's response is 'We are bullish on ESPN' and long term prospects are good. Discusses BAM to directly distrubute ESPN products to consumer which will allow us

What's Different about shanghai
Bob says SDL very successful and that Disney has data on cust sat which is excellent at this point, 50% of SDL are not Shanghai locals and hotels are full and expansion has been greenlighted

The Shanghai stuff is really shocking and impressive. With 4 million in 120 days, that's about 33,000 people per day.

More expansion has already been decided on, and they're breaking even. Very impressive.

He also basically is saying we're getting new hotels at WDW and Disneyland! Nothing to announce, but it seems like they're coming.

Hey @marni1971, can you speak to any new hotels being in the pipeline? Is that what Coronado stuff is about?

JP Morgan asks about incremental growth in P&R

Iger believes that Disney has pricing leverage, Speaks about revenue yield management, and it would be 'smart' to build more hotels, Speaks about 'mining' IP specifically Star Wars - Consumer Products had 11 lines of products which exceeded 1B in global revenue.

Asked about volatility in sports network rating - Iger notes that any speculation on ratings is premature and that DIS will be watching trendlines and DIS is lucky to have NFL licensed on long term basis problems now could be abberational

Bank of America/Merrill Lynch

Asked about potential acquisitions - Iger things there are several interesting ops to allow marketing directly to consumers, Disney is interested in having 'more direct' relationship

Succession discussion, BoD process is ongoing and will produce the right candidate at the right time

EDIT: spell/grammar

Q BAMtech level of investment , Consumer Products Q1 O/I and beyond

A Buying only 33% and DIS will be launching a ESPN branded service, No significant investment beyond that

Christine expects Consumer Products to have growth but comparables will be difficult because of TFA/FROZEN
Cars is an 'evergreen' franchise and she expects good results and Spiderman will also drive revenues

Speaks more about the ESPN direct product,

Christine commening on cable affiliate revenue is up 3 and 5- Detailed figure will be in 10-K filing

Did they say more hotels coming to WDW ? I've always wanted a Star Wars resort. Thank you for posting the information about the report. A lot of interesting subjects covered. ESPN is troubling.i guess we will have to wait a see how SDL turns out numbers wise after being open for a full year.
