On the topic of new hotels, there was not a single Disney hotel room open this weekend. I called and checked online, and someone said that while checking in at Pop Century they were told they were at 102% capacity, don't really understand how you can be above capacity but lol

No different than airlines overbooking and selling more seats then they have in the hopes that at least one or two have plans change and are a no-show. I'd suspect somebody got a free "upgrade" to a DVC studio elsewhere as a result. Unfortunately this happens quite frequently in my travels which is why online check-in and hotel rewards status are a must for business travel!

Happens all the time, Disney aims to be at 105% all the time. Their belief is you don't book a specific resort (except for DVC members), and they will always upgrade a guest who shows up and their hotel is full. When it gets to the point of having absolutely ZERO rooms available across the property, you move them to the most expensive hotel room off property, and throw in all kinds of crazy stuff to offset it. (Personal transport to/from and around WDW, tour guide, comp the entire room amount, etc). I had to do that exactly once when I worked at Y&B 10 years ago. It was Easter, it was insanely crowded, and I had guests check in at like 1:45 am after having been out of rooms since 9pm.

Put more tents over at Fort Wilderness!

Expanding FW or building an entirely new CG on marginal land seems like a nice addition. Maybe someday.

Clearly Disney is seeing fabulous results with the new "Magical Hot Racking" initiative.

I understand it also has led to an increase in "magical evening experiences".
