what exactly is that weird area music in Innoventions plaza and the rest of the old Communicore complex? its like an ascending tune for four or five notes, then a lower note, a higher one again, then descending for 4 notes, then higher for one, and lower again, in about 5 or so seconds. I've heard this in everywhere from the land area to the W.O.L. building, to the Odyssey center, and especially around S.S.E. and, as i said, in Innoventions and the plaza, and very loudly in "cosmic ray's" restaurant and surrounding areas. Please help me with this song! it's been stuck in my head on and off for years, along with weird images of those spinning things in the plaza.

Thank you.

Check out Mousegeeks.com- their audio archieve can't be beat. I believe you're referring to the Innoventions Plaza Loop by David Arkenstone, but hard to be sure unless I heard you sing it ;) In any case, check them out...they've got everything.

Edit: If mousegeeks.com doesn't have what you're looking for, check out http://www.wdisneyw.co.uk/sounds.html

Sounds like "Future World Theme" by Russell Brower, part of the aforementioned Innoventions Plaza Loop, which also includes music by Arkenstone.

I believe that the track you are thinking of is called 'Papillion' and is by David Arkenstone from the album 'In the wake of the wind' which was released in 1991. Its really a great album, I always think of EPCOT whenever I hear it. I don't know how Mr. Arkenstone would feel about that but I think he'd be happy to know how many people are enjoying his music.

Thank you ear training/aural theory! Finally that class from college paid off! (Can hear it in my head now too, thanks to the above post!)
Very good, I hear the melody now, but still don't recognize it.

Currently, they're playing the awful holiday music in Future World... other times, the loops are pretty familiar. I worked in Future World 7 years, and now am an annual passholder. Still lurk about.

So back to that melody. If you would, please do a rhythmic dictation on that as well. maybe use an "e" for an eighth note, "q" for a quarter note, "h" for a half note and "w" for a whole note. And a dot for a dot.

Ok, I'm asking a lot.

FYI to ambient/space/minimalist music fans... similar music is to be found 24/7on XM 77.

I'd download the Innoventions area loop. I know that was what I was looking for for the longest time. You can find it in the audio section of my site (in sig).

It's been a while since the class, but I'll bite :p

In 6/8 time:

(q. rest) q. | q. q. | q e q e- | -q. q e | q.- q e- | -q.- q. | q e q e- | -q.- q.|

Roughly speaking. The "-" represent ties.
