Future Splash Mtn. Re-Theme

Love the idea... just not as a replacement.

Sure, but I don't think any of this is about our personal preferences. ;)

The OP struck me as more or less an attempt at speculating what Disney might do to swap out an old dead IP for a more relevant and lucrative one for Splash Mountain. At this point in Disney Park history a retheme of Splash Mountain seems so absurd that it might just happen.

So should I start another thread to say that I like the idea, just not as a replacement? 😊

Yeah I understand what the OP is doing. TBH if Disney wanted to replace a “dead” IP in this case I don’t think they would go with Princess & the Frog. It’s not really the most successful IP. Which I why I think a lot of us fans like it (aside from he fact that it’s a great film) because it’s not in your face all the time. Anyway, I don’t think it would be worth the retheme for them. Which is why I see them knocking Splash down before retheming it. Why is why I don’t see anything happening at all for a very long time.

:) Sorry, I didn't mean to imply that you should be quiet or go away.

Why is why I don’t see anything happening at all for a very long time.

I'm inclined to agree, but then again I can't ignore the social change happening in the "real world" outside of Disney's resorts either. All it'll take is someone to put a spotlight on the ride and the controversial film it's based on, and the next thing you know some changes will be announced.

It would be the most poetic replacement.

I think Splash's location is great. You go from the western frontier, to New Orleans, to the rolling hills of the south.

In and of itself it’s location doesn’t bother me. It’s what it “does” to the HM experience. It was kind of cool when that was a quiet corner of the park. Made the HM experience that much greater.

It's scary that I can see this as plausible. Can't we just wait until after my lifetime to go around making these changes?

The entire facade is rooted in the Brer Rabbit stories- it's designed to be Chick a Pin hill, as seen in the film. Retheming the ride would require a complete exterior rebuild.

I would give credence to this argument if not for the fact that Disney just turned a Hollywood hotel into a giant warehouse / factory / computer chip.

There are rumours Disneyland Paris is finally getting a Splash Mountain-esque attraction based on Moana to go in Adventureland. We’ll see how that turns out.

Wow. I assume this would go on the expansion pad where the Indiana Jone Adventure was originally supposed to be built?
