The music in P&F is excellent, and the story would fit Americana frontier/southern vibe adjacent to HM!
Love the idea... just not as a replacement.

Sure, but I don't think any of this is about our personal preferences.
The OP struck me as more or less an attempt at speculating what Disney might do to swap out an old dead IP for a more relevant and lucrative one for Splash Mountain. At this point in Disney Park history a retheme of Splash Mountain seems so absurd that it might just happen.
So should I start another thread to say that I like the idea, just not as a replacement?![]()
Why is why I don’t see anything happening at all for a very long time.

Yeah I understand what the OP is doing. TBH if Disney wanted to replace a “dead” IP in this case I don’t think they would go with Princess & the Frog. It’s not really the most successful IP. Which I why I think a lot of us fans like it (aside from he fact that it’s a great film) because it’s not in your face all the time. Anyway, I don’t think it would be worth the retheme for them. Which is why I see them knocking Splash down before retheming it. Why is why I don’t see anything happening at all for a very long time.
It would be the most poetic replacement.
Also @Dr. Hans Reinhardt , it would still most likely look like a cartoon Mountain next to HM, which has always been my only issue with Splash, it’s location.
I think Splash's location is great. You go from the western frontier, to New Orleans, to the rolling hills of the south.
The entire facade is rooted in the Brer Rabbit stories- it's designed to be Chick a Pin hill, as seen in the film. Retheming the ride would require a complete exterior rebuild.
One ride full of Disneyfied 19th c. American Black folklore being replaced by another Disney adaptation of European fairy tales would be ironic, not poetic.
That won't satisfy them. We're living in a culture of "burn it all down".Any potentially offensive reference has been carefully avoided in the ride
There are rumours Disneyland Paris is finally getting a Splash Mountain-esque attraction based on Moana to go in Adventureland. We’ll see how that turns out.
You know what was disastrous? How Mickey mangled that song in Soundsational. Zip! Zip! A dee doooooooooooo DAH!!!!!!!At this point, you really can't have Disneyland or World without Zip a Dee Doo dah. A retheme would be disastrous.
