Standing inside Epcot and hearing someone say

"Walt Disney World is so much better than this...can we go there next mom?"

I always overhear people thinking Universal is a Disney theme park. I wonder how many people actually try to put thier disney passes thru the turnstiels (how the heck to you spell that?) at universal - and how many times the employees at universal have to explain to them the difference between disney and universal (you know what i mean - explaining the real difference between the two would probably take all day)...

I think it's pretty funny when you're getting on a bus with the destination clearly marked on the bus and someone will ask if it's going to that location. Nah...we try to trick everyone...where the bus stops, nobody knows...;)

LOL - two things at Universal bug me..

1. Calling their *staff* Cast Members
2. Calling their Universal Express FASTPASS.

I head those things so many times on my last trip! LOL

Overhearing someone at breakfast saying, at 8:30AM, "I guess we better head over to MK so we'll be one of the first in."

Maybe I only think this one is funny
I enjoy watching parents try to calm their emotionally distaught children(who will probablly be needing several sessions of therapy) after comming off Alien Encounter, especially after repeated warnings by the CM's and other people on line telling them that their children WILL be frightened.

Seano, it would be funnier if it weren't so sad.(and common) Sometimes I wonder what those parents are thinking when they do things like that. This is not meant as a criticism of your post, just a reflection on human behavior!

No offense taken,I don't think the funny part is the kids crying, the funny part is that the parents are getting what they deserve (then they complain and blame Disney for making such a scary ride.)

Marcia, I saw a parent smack a kid for crying after Dinosaur!, saying "I thought we agreed you were going to be a big kid." I wanted to smack the guy and say, "I thought we agreed you were going to be a parent." Idiot. The kid was like, 4 years old. NOT a big kid. And, naturally, the smacking didn't stop the crying...

Do you lose all common sense when you have children? It was, sadly, all too common a scene...I saw a family force a little guy (who was crying and terrified) on the Kali Rapids a second time because they told him he'd have to wait by himself if he didn't go. That's just cruel. We treat the dog better than that.

End of rant. Sorry.

A conversation I had with a small child one night while waiting for Haunted Mansion; it started when he exclaimed, "I don't like ghosts!":

"Really? Why don't you like ghosts?"

"Ghosts are icky!"

"And why do you say that?"

"Because they're dead!"

"So that's why you don't like ghosts?"

"I DO like ghosts!"

"But I thought you said you don't like ghosts."

"I don't like ghosts..... I do like ghosts!"

"Well, make up your mind. Do you like ghosts?"

"NO!"

This conversation went on for quite a while!

sillyspook, let me guess. The child was around age 3? I've had far too many of those conversations with my children. No wonder my hair's turning grey, and I talk to myself a lot!

I cant think of hearing anything funnier than what time is the 3 o clock parade? But that was already mentioned.........I have seen some very sad things for example: I remember this clearly from my first trip, I was about 10 and I was waiting in line for the sky way over to tommorrow land and a little girl was being forced to get in line by her mother, the little girl was crying, she was terrified to get on so her mother started throwing a fit and eventually her ice cream cone! Yup she threw an ice cream cone at her daughter! I'll never forget it. Now I've got a funny story but the joke was on me. It was during the 25th aniversary at WDW and I was with a friend in EPCOT just b4 illuminations started so we were running aroung getting on every ride w/ no prob. We get on Journey into Imagination(the last time I rode b4 the new version) we sit down in the seat and the CM tells us to fasten our seat belts we were looking all over and couldnt find em then we look up to see a grinning CM and his companions laughing there heads off. What a tourist!

You took my anecdote! I used to say that (fasten your seatbelts) when I worked in the mexican boatride (el rio del tiempo). I loved seeing the boat starting to move and the guest hurrying to fasten them! very funny! (sorry for the ones on this board who are guests and we kinda made fun of you... but you know, after you are doing that for ten hours a day, you have to find a way of enduring it!)

Another cute one (when asked by a kid) was: "do you live here in the park"?
I was asked by an adult once if I was going home on my days off (since I am from Mexico and am soooo close...).

The question that you can count on being asked is: "where are the restrooms?" The question is not strange or annoying at all, but the line you get to ask you ONLY that is what always amazed me! Once, inside the mexican pavillion, I had a line of people forming to talk to me, and all each asked was that. So after a few, I raised my voice and asked "Who wants to know where the bathroom is?" They started laughing and raised their hands! So I just pointed out at it... right across the place! The whole line dissapeared!

;) :)
