Fun of the WEDway...

I'll always call the Tomorrowland Transit the WEDway Peoplemover.... Anyways, A friend of ours had been boasting that this ride was his favorite. Now, my wife and I enjoy it, particularly because of the short lines. Our friend said we hadn't truly enjoyed it.

That being said, we boarded a car and waited for the fun.

Everytime another car passes by yours, wave and ask the other people if they're enjoying themselves. Smile and wave, and 9 times out of 10, they will.

You can spend an entire day trying to get people to wave and smile back.

Even funnier, you can make friends this way. Some people recognized us in Adventureland later, and chatted with us in line!

Try it next time. It's loads of fun. I'm normally a timid person, but this is a blast!

LoL...actually..I do something a bit different...

Me and my friends duck down inside the car..and whenever another car passes...we hop up and try and scare the people passing by...

Mean? Yes....fun? Yep....

I'm glad to know other people do this, too. We always wave and speak to people when we ride the people mover. It's a lot of fun when you run into the same people later on. :sohappy:

....glad to know I'm not the only one who STILL calls it the WEDway....as a matter of fact, when people refer to it as the TTA, I sometimes don't know what their talking about.....guess old habits are hard to change....

...alot of people think this ride is a drag.....but we love it...we save it for a time when our legs and feet can't take it anymore...it's a great way to cool down on a summer day, take a load off your feet, and catch a few quick winks too...my wife and daughter do all the waving while I try to doze...

..if it's not too busy, just ask the CM if you can stay on and they almost always let you ride again and again....we rode around 7 times during our visit in August...and we felt rejuvenated afterwards.

It's HarmonioUS, NOT HarmoniYOU.
I still call it the WEDway People Mover....

Back in 1990..(gawd I feel old now...lol) my step brother and I escaped from our parents...and rode the thing like 10 times in a row...The CM was being totaly cool with us....untill....uh... Well...we decided to get rather roudy when you go in the tunnel thingy...we decided to change seats as the ride was moving...(I did not know there was a cam in the tunnel thingy...) and the CM got on the intercom or whatever...and chastised us... It was funny.... but when we got off..the CM was nice...and told us to behave or something...

But we waved at the others...and were acting crazy...a good time was had...:p

Back in '93, my cousin and I stopped off at Mickey's Startraders (if that's what it was called back then, I can't remember) and bought some skittles. We ate most, but when the TTA passed through Space Mountain, we tossed some over the barrier onto the people waiting in line. It was hilarious at the time to hear people saying "what the _____ was that?".

SO......it was YOU throwing that stuff...

I wish it would go slower when passing thru Space Mountain....the darn thing seems to speed up as it gets into the Mountain and it dies when there's nothing to see.

We've been on Wedway when Space Mountain was under refurbishment, all the lights were on in the ride area. We got a great look at the coaster track. The thing that struck me most was how compact the track system was. It actually takes up very little room, kind of like a wild mouse type construction.

We love Wedway, it's a great "chill out" ride.

You know what's funny? I have a camera with a very large external flash and the last time we went to Disney I had been playing with some of the exposure settings on my camera to get better shots in near darkness (it's digital so no big waste of film)... Well, when we went through Space Mountain on the WED I thought I could use a slightly faster setting with my flash and possibly get a half decent shot. Well, I forgot that my flash has a sensor on the front to automatically detect the amount of needed light and since I was taking a picture of something more than ten feet away it didn't get a bounce-back from the flash so it dumped the entire charge in a single flash and lit up the entire room for a second. It was INCREDIBLY noticeable and I can only imagine what the poor people that were on the track must have thought when it happened. I had no idea my flash was that strong and I thought I was going to get talked to for sure on that one... Fortunately I fought off the urge to do the same thing when we went through Buzz Lightyear and I managed to get off the ride without incident

I recently downloaded a RealVideo clip of the entire TTA ride from a site on the net. Man, in watching this I feel like I would do anything to get back to Disney World again. I don't see it happening anytime in the near future, but at least watching video clips like this is a little relief. I'm just starting to see someone, so if things work out, I can definitely plan on a Disney honeymoon and will have to introduce her to the wonder that is the TTA.....at least 10 times in a row. :D

My favorite thing to do is "slap fives" with people on the other trains. There are only 2 opportuntieis to do it and sometimes you get some real "sticks in the mud" and they just look at you like you have 5 heads or something.

A few years ago when it was raining, my fiancee (now wife) * I stayed on for 5-6 times and I would lean over the side and yell out to the train coming ahead.

So if you ever see a 6ft 2inch maniac yelling at you to "slap fives" its probably me :-)

Excuse me sir, please keep all hands and forward facing tenticles inside your ride vehicle at all times...
