Not long.
I haven't decided exactly when, but definitely not long.

You'll know when the right time is, Dot.
Speaking of jobs, I read in the paper that our elementary school's music teacher quit as of yesterday. She only started last school year. We have another attempt at a levy vote coming up, and I wonder if she's quitting while she can. The lead story in our paper today was about all the cuts, effective next month, that would happen if it didn't pass again. One of which is eliminating all field trips and other major school trips, like 8th grade to D.C.
Plus up to 25 staff positions. Oy.

We were warned at our final PTG meeting that if something like this happened, the PTG would be looked at funding things like field trips. Which means my 'job' as treasurer is getting more serious.

Wow.
That's some serious stuff, indeed.
Children should be top priority. If only it were so. . .

Very strange indeed, but we survived. My poor littleones are like little wilted flowers by the end of the day.

Poor munchkins.
Even too hot for them.

We just need to get the people out there. This used to be a community that supported its school system, but people naively believe if they don't vote, or vote 'no', the pols in Columbus will fix our school funding issues.
In the meantime the kids get the shaft. :brick:

It's that way everywhere Jenn! The only time the public gets involved is if they mess with school sports.

Kind of a sad commentary on our values.....

Oh they are - instituting a 'pay to play' for extracurricular stuff. Maybe that will get people to polls. Sports are religion..:brick: :brick: :brick:

I'm more concerned about where the special needs kids will end up obviously. Aides would be cut first probably. We need them.

Ah well, sorry for venting. I need to put on painting clothes again directly and apply a second coat to my basement walls. I probably won't be on again till tomorrow afternoon - have a good evening everyone!
