Evening all

After 3 hours of working in the Princess' room we have 5 bags of garbage, 4 loads of wash and we can see floor. There is still some work to do, but the major overhaul has been accomplished. :sohappy: And this is how I spent my summer vacation. :ROFLOL:

How is everybody this fine evening?
Hey Mad! Sounds like you got alot accomplished!!! :sohappy:

Want to start on my son's room next?

Hi Mad!

Nope!

This was one of the things we've been putting off because it was so horrible. I don't see how they could live in there. I just couldn't take it any longer; going on strike to make them do it just didn't work. I'm surprised we didn't find "things" living in there. :lookaroun

We did find a bunch of long lost treasures (and clothes) though.

I want to redecorate my room too, but the inside needs to be painted. That was on the list, but just hasn't gotten done because its just too hot and we have no A/C.

Hey Betty. :) Ick, YES!! It is so hot. Not as crowded as usual, I think most people were smart and headed for the shore this weekend. DBF is out golfing now...hopefully he's staying hydrated.

What are you up to today?
We went to the Nursing home and fought traffic all the way home.

They actually closed all our state beaches today because they were so crowded. I've never heard of them doing that before!

I'm not much of a beach person though, so it didn't bother me !

Hey Steph and Mad!
I couldn't get through days like this without AC - I'd be so sick. I was cleaning our bathroom today. :hurl: Still more to finish, but I needed a break to clear the fumes out of me. :lookaroun

My son is singing along to High School Musical. :hammer:

We had no AC for a long time when we moved here, but we finally broke down and bought a few window units. I didn't want one in my bedroom when the kids were litle because I was afraid I wouldn't hear them if they woke up during the night. Now I want it there so I don't have to hear them! :ROFLOL:

Sigh, I already miss my family. :(

((HUGS)) You will be fine, it takes time to make such a big move and adjust. In the meantime there is the phone, use it.

And make plans for them to come visit. I didn't bother to catch up (too many pages), did you find someplace to live yet?

I have a small window unit for the bedroom (cools the 2 bedrooms really), but its so hot & humid today as soon as you step away you melt. I have all the ceiling fans on, but I'm just moving hot air around. The house is too old for central air (built in 1932) so we live in the bedrooms during the summer when it gets bad.

Can you float me a loan? :lookaroun

Well, I didn't win enough for a loan (that was Grandma...she trumped me in the winning category...but then again, she always does.)

I put $10 in a penny slot....I got down to 90 cents, and then started kinda winning my money back. I then hit it big...I ended up winning 128 dollars, which took me up to 133! I put a little back in and came out with $126. :D That's the most I've ever won at a casino! :D :sohappy:

Right now though, I am taking a break from cleaning. I just swept the family room and I'm waiting to do the kitchen. (The kitchen is the big one and I just didn't feel like doing it yet. )

Thats good! Is it near your job or do you have a commute? Hopefully the neighborhood is a decent one. How is the security there?

It's about 8 miles from my job, using local roads. Takes about 12-15 mins. It's in Hunter's Creek, it's supposed to be a nice area.
