Yes that is right! Read the book and it will all make sense.I want to preempt this post with the fact that I've never read any of the SW books or seen the cartoons. I'm sure they're great, but I've never had the desire. I love the 6 movies for what they are and have seen them all a zillion times, well with the exception of Phantom Menace.
So, let me get this straight. The purpose of the ride is to take us to the scene of the battle on Endor from Return of the Jedi, but Rex overshoots the destination and we end up finding ourselves in a situation where we're in the trench of a 3rd Death Star, the exact same scenario as in A New Hope, and then the Death Star is destroyed the exact same way.... again. That just makes no sense.
With that said, I go back to my original statement that we're overanalyzing the purpose of the story of the ride. It's not meant to be an addition to the SW story. It's just a means of allowing riders and fans to experience the same exhilartion that our "heroes" experienced through the movies. The new ride will likely have the same intention. Any overanalyzing just causes issues with the timetable of the story and ruins the original intention of the ride, and that's to have fun! :hammer:
Like I said before, I've never read the books.... it's just not in my repertoire, so I'm guessing I've missed a lot. Sounds like some of them are enough to upset us SW movie fans.... like Chewie being killed by a moon???? Guess I had to be there to understand how one is killed by a moon. A Solo kid turning to the Dark Side is an interesting storyline though. The Schwartz, errr..... Force is strong in those Solo kids.

And no to the second part because if that was the case there would have been a alrge Star Tours doesn't follow the story from Star Wars at Disney buildings across the country.
Sims are getting retrofitted. They are still the same 'shells' but will be very different.
