Frozen ride replacing Maelstrom?

Any ride is better in that building that a meet n greet. It disgusts me how we lost a dark ride for that. In my opinion here are PLENTY of meet n greets in the park already. If they needed another place for princesses, they should've shoehorned it in next to the Tangled bathrooms...or maybe they could take over the old Peter Pan bathroom area!

Realistically, you need a decent amount of space to house the princesses given their popularity -- Fairytale Hall has two room for each set of princesses (i.e. 4 total M&G rooms) and has to be able to house the long lines to get in. It's not something that can be "shoehorned" into a small space.

That said, I think replacing Philharmagic with the princess M&G would have been idea since it would not have caused a loss of a dark ride in FL and Philharmagic could have gone into the Town Square Theater seemlessly.

There is concept art for it, however there is a better chance for MK or DHS.

Would really fit a need for DHS. I would assume that if it went there it would be part of some sort of expanded "Animation Courtyard", right? Could they use the VOTLM building for a ride (seems kind of small and boxed in).

I believe that it would take some part of the "CL" plot new construction.

One poster on this thread remarked that changing Maelstrom to "Frozen" would anger the Annual Passholders. I agree, but AP's are not the prime consideration. Like the jilted lover in a country song, we're in love an we'll come back. Disney is more concerned with the family taking that big vacation and deciding between WDW and say, a cruise. Having a "Frozen" themed attraction will do that much more to pull in the family with girls and/or young boys.
Also, the Parks aren't what pulls in the big bucks for Disney. If they are, why does The Mouse virtually give away admission after the fourth day or so? The Parks are almost like "loss leaders" while Disney rakes in the green stuff on hotels, dining and those ubiquitous souvenirs.
That said, the best idea is to integrate "Frozen" characters into the existing attraction without disturbing the thread. They could provide the narration-or maybe replace those creepy trolls at the point where the boat turns around.

Anyone know what is going on with Maelstrom? Someone elsewhere mentioned there is a scrim up over the water fall and no water running for the last, he said, 10 days.

No its been well over a month now that the work has been going on, again. Also they have taken out every tree and flower and green foliage that was in the pavilion and around the little bridge water area near maelstrom. Add all the meetngreet lines and store mayhem traffic to that, and you got one ugly pavilion right now. I dont know what they are doing but at least the meetngreet is leaving. Now they need to beautify the place again like it use to be.

Strikes one as this being weird... not on the refurbishment list from what I can see... Wonder if this is an emergency fix? Maybe something became structurely unsound and needed emergency correction.. but then again, i'm sure we would have heard about that from someone with loose lips...

The work on the waterfall is just re-refurbishment. They filed a permit for it about a month ago..

Yes Yes, a Frozen attraction is all well and good but we need to look at the bigger picture here. If they're going to put characters in Epcot, show the Japan Pavilion some love and create a Miyazaki based attraction.

I think Big Hero 6 would be more likely. Remember, Disney only distributes Studio Ghibli films, they don't own them.
