Frozen ride replacing Maelstrom?

all the anticipation about announcing the frozen takeover of maelstrom reminds me of this scene from toy story (check around 2:30)
lol everyone's on edge waiting for it to happen. now we just need them to announce it when we've let our guard down...

Wow that was a huge relief. I'm looking forward to the animated short. But now...I'm just confused. Because if the Frozen ride was happening they absolutely would have announced it tonight. I'm sure that it could be announced at a later date, but why wouldn't Disney capitalize on a fantastic way to do it like tonight? This just adds to my frustration. Maybe there is actually hope for Maelstrom?

But with the ride closing this month they just can't not say anything about why they are closing the ride and let it sit there until next summer. Especially since the whole pavilion is rumored to be closing down

It's supposedly closing at the end of the month though, why would they wait that long to announce it? Unless they're taking a page from Universal's book and starting construction before the announcement. Of course they're skipping the part about having the replacement be a noticeable improvement over what it is replacing and not just a switch-a-roo.

I don't think so, with FP expiring for the ride and CMs reportedly acknowledging it's closure it looks to be destined to join the list of extinct WDW attractions. Who knows why Disney hasn't made an announcement, I'm guessing they maybe don't have all the details ready yet to make a big announcement.

Wow, weeks of hyping a "Next Chapter of Frozen" and where it is going as a franchise for the press releases and all it amounts to is a "Oh yeah, we're making a short" mention that lasts less then 20 seconds.

Have you forgotten the 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride? They just shut it down "for refurb" and then nothing for over 5 years. They do whatever they want and we have to take it. They are going to say Maelstrom is going down for a refurb and then announce it has been "Frozen over" right before re opening 18 months later.

yeah it wouldnt surprise me if they closed maelstrom for who knows how long to save money, before they begin anything..but hopefully that wont be case.

I dont think the whole pavilion will close down, theres been no indication of that and nothing has changed with Akershus reservations etc.

That was disappointing.... I guess they didnt announce anything because they know how CRAZY all the fans would get.
