Since i've been out of the loop, what's the word on the Ratatoullie ride in Paris... Just a rumor? It seems like it would make sense seeing they're putting Frozen into WS.

This would be an awesome addition to Epcot and WDW. Don't see it happening though, it will likely end up staying a Paris exclusive.

When Frozen 1st came out I loved it. I still love the film... However I'm really starting to reconsider. Yes it's a masterpiece and it's really well designed and animated HOWEVER..... People are forgetting that Disney has more than Frozen.
I was In the store this weekend and saw people going nuts over a Frozen display. Would this happen if it were The Little Mermaid? Or Hunchback? NO.
It's blown way outta proportion.
Now with the rumors still flowing about Norway I can't help but grow my hatred everyday for this film.
which I'm depressed about.

With the land Disney owns they can keep their original attraction (Maelstrom) and move a Frozen ride to some other area.
Sadly Disney won't listen to their fans when money is speaking louder.

I don't get it. Are you reconsidering your love for a movie that you yourself said is great because it's too popular?

There is a lot more credibility to the Frozen rumor. That seems to be all but confirmed. As for Ratatouille, I think it's a more logical fit, but also a more expensive one.

I wasn't even aware there was a rumor of this going around. What's the point in having DHS then?

I think it's a bit extreme to write this like a ransom note, but yes.

Its no longer if,,,that deadline has already passed and meetings already took place. Frozen is happening, but Norway will remain Norway, it remains to be seen however if Disney keeps their word on retaining Norwegian influence. And yes that was part of the outcome of said meetings.

I figured, it was back at the begining of my trip that my one cm friend told me that. I will be traveling down to celebrate the last days of maelstrom. I will be at Epcot on the 27th probably. The Cm's were really nice when I chatted with them. One even showed me on the ceiling in the last room that there are troll footprints that can only be seen with a flashlight. Just ask one of them and they will be glad to show you :)

Now that is something I never knew.

So, I haven't gone through the whole thread, but MAN this news depresses me. Not that Maelstrom is Sacrosanct, but there should be more concern for authenticity and actually showcasing these countries rather than just giving us more Disney characters and Disney stories. They're going to gut the charm of World Showcase. But that's been said by everyone here already...

I have no reason to believe this, it's not based on anything, but the Pavilion will likely stay largely the same, right? I wonder if the ride will all be Frozen or could they do something like splitting it up by giving us "real" Norway (history, culture) at first and maybe after the plunge they switch to fantasy inspired by Norway--Frozen.

Changes are coming but it will still be the Norway pavilion, believe it or not Disney understands the need to keep a Norwegian theme, how and if they do it or not as has been promised, we will have to wait and see. Hopefully the frozen overlay of maelstrom will include Norwegian influences/design and not just be a bunch of olafs on sticks popping up, or princess costumes hanging from the rafters and doorways for sale etc.

Does anyone have the Maelstrom capacity on-hand that they could provide? It can't be more than 900 or so per hour. Without a MAJOR structural change to both the show-building and the ride system I don't see how this tiny little ride could accommodate the crowds that a Frozen attraction would bring. It just doesn't make any sense to me. It would be like re-theming Toy Story Mania to Star Wars Mania. In a word, FOOLISH.
