Frozen ride replacing Maelstrom?

What an awesome shirt. Bought it this morning. I'm nervous that this shirt is grouping Maelstrom in with "extinct" attractions with the use of the original WDW & Epcot Center logo. It definitely is an interesting time to release a shirt...time will tell :/

A very cool, but downright cynical piece of merch.

They are preying on our nostalgia, before it even has a chance to qualify as nostalgia.

I may be getting preyed on but I still want a Maelstrom shirt. I would've bought one last time I was in Epcot if they sold them. Of course the whole reason I want it is because the ride is closing. This just feels dirty on their part, but I can't resist :(

I agree, Mike.

I received this e-mail this morning. To date, I have purchased most of the limited-release attraction poster tees. I believe this will be the second Epcot offering as Horizons was offered last fall; there were three versions, one for each ending. Aside from Horizons, I recall all of the other limited-release attraction poster tees were for current, classic attractions. Given the timing and news circulating the web, it certainly seems to be a peculiar choice for their next release.

I will certainly purchase one before the deadline. Now, if only I can encourage 4,999 other people to purchase the tee and join me in the courtyard of the Norway Pavilion on September 27th.
There was the Imagination shirt with Dreamfinder, Figment and Christmas Lights... that shirt didn't show up until February.

Considering that the church is already dedicated to Frozen, by the time TDO adds theming to the exterior of the ride to match the interior, there wouldn't be much left that wouldn't be related to the film. It's not like it's that big of an area. :(
The church is not dedicated to Frozen. It has side by side comparisons between Norwegian culture and how it inspired the movie.

I'm really convinced that the money that was going to go to the JIYI's referb was switched to work on a frozen ride. I was talking to some of my castmember friends (Who work attractions btw.) and back in January they were going to close imagination and referb it but that never happened..

And back in January was when frozen got really big..

I am very upset with this. Maelstrom is one of the few things left from Epcot Center it would be a real shame for them to close it for some poorly written cash cow.
