Frozen Gals On Once Upon A Time?

I've got faith in the team. They (generally) do a good job, plus I have a feeling on this one they're going to have a good deal of oversight from both the network and corporate.

Maybe it was Hans that put her in there!

I would guess it was Rumpel. Elsa is INCREDIBLY powerful (she can create sentient life, for pity's sake!), hard to kill, and at times emotionally volatile. Rumpel isn't crazy about powerful, unpredictable things that he can't control, so that "urned" Elsa a spot in his vault, I'd wager.

Six year olds thought it was okay, but the horse in Tangled was funnier.

(That's probably because six-yo.'s don't delve messages of "Personal enlightenment and empowerment" out of Disney cartoons...)
So true! Max was WAY better than Olaf without any dialogue!!

Keep Moving Forward
In interviews with the show runners they said they had to pitch the use of the Frozen characters to ABC heads and then higher up the Walt Disney Company ladder as well. They have said they will be going the misunderstood route and they talked about how much they loved the sister story.

They also said the love Merida and want to use her as well but Disney is much more protective of the newer characters.

I love Frozen but I REALLY liked the evil villain approach ala Peter Pan and the Wicked Witch better. Maleficent would be great but they killed her off as a little side thing.

I know a lot of people wanted Aladdin but they already got rid of Jafar on the Wonderland spin off.

With the exception of the jaunt to Neverland earlier this year, the OUAT crew has shown they can handle classic carriers in a fresh way while still being true to the original.

I'm slightly worried since Frozen is so new & still very much discussed in current events (ie still all over the internet in memes and parodies) but I trust Horowitz & Kitsis to do Elsa justice. If only Adele Dazeem would guest & sing. :)

And John Travolta could introduce the episode

she's not killed off, she is regenerating remember. And if anything she will be back I am guessing somewhere down the line.

I think the show has it's legs back under it. And this Frozen addition will drive new viewers so I think it was very wise of them.

And that's the other reason I don't think they're going to make Elsa very villainous, if she's going to be villainous at all. They're looking to hook in new viewers, and if they deviate too far, those viewers are not going to stick around.

That is a very good point, I didn't think of that.

Ok, so I haven't seen season 3 at all and boyfriend has long since stopped being invested (the whole Neverland like didn't click with me, and I forgot to set up the DVR correctlyso as to save more that just the last 5 episodes), but I showed one of our 11 year olds the Elsa teaser and her jaw just dropped. So I told her a bit about the show and see was all "how did I not know about this?" So I place a bit of one of the last five episodes of the season(something with Hook and Ariel). I kid you not she loved it. She and the other 11 year old girl stayed up and fell asleep watching it on Netflix.

So I'm pretty sure the target demo is 11 year old girls. lol. Like they were really stoked about the show.

DW must be 11 at heart then as well. Because her jaw dropped at the season finale.

I am sure 11 year old girls love it, and a few 45 year old guys :) I am excited about next season, the buzz it on about it so that can only be good for ratings. :)

Anna and Kristoff have been officially confirmed for OUAT. Elsa is said to appear in at least 9 episodes next season and Anna and kristoff shall appear in some of those episodes. The events of Frozen have already happened and apparently this is focusing after the story told in the film. So in a way frozen fans are getting their sequel sort of, at least a live action version.

Elsa:
The Queen of Arendelle, this late-20s/early-30s beauty long struggled to control her “chilling” powers and even unleashed upon her town an eternal winter during her coronation. Ultimately, she realized that the key to controlling her powers is love — namely, her bond with sister Anna — and now she is aware of the threat she poses if she were to lose control of her magic again (in which instance Vancouver weather could rival Winnipeg’s!)

Anna: Elsa’s slightly younger sister is a fun-loving, fearless optimist who often gets herself into situations where she is in over her head, yet is able to triumph due to her resourcefulness and can-do spirit. She values her relationship with her sister above all else.

Kristoff: This handsome, hearty, salt-of-the-earth ice cutter spent most of his life alone (unless you count his reindeer). He has a sometimes-gruff demeanor that can hide his deep love for Anna and her sister Elsa. When we first meet Kristoff on Once, he is adjusting to life at the castle — including sleeping indoors for the first time in his life.
