Any interest Beyoncé might inject into country music will not result in the return of Cowboys & Indians to elementary school recess…as Beyoncé would be first to admit on a trip to WDW, “this ain’t Texas”.
Yeah, I meant the idea of cowboys (similar to how sea shanties were popular on tiktok/youtube a couple years back) instead of the cowboys and indians stuff associated with frontierland, that is long dead in the eyes of pop culture and for the most part won't fly today. I meant the cowboy aesthetic, not the cowboys and indians stuff
Pirates, HM, and Jungle Cruise all have guns within the attraction though so ya know...

(just kidding... I hope)
Jungle Cruise is probably safe at this point, it gets good lines and it had its sensitivity redo already, surprised the bit with the gun survived that. Predictions for the other ones are that Frontierland is probably staying in some form, but will probably have part of it cut out for a New Orleans mini land, Tom Sawyer is probably going to get some land cut back (a la the redo it had in DL), Hall of Presidents will probably stay but the show before the presidents are shown off/waiting room will change (the PR from "we added the most recent president" is an easy win), tikis seem to be toast though (personally, I'd drop the song the tikis sing and sing something else, not looking forward to when it happens though).

gonna be funny in about seven-eight years when people come out of the woodwork to complain that PATF is also culturally insensitive

That's already been happening; apparently they can't reference her in frog form anymore. Note that they were trying very hard to be sensitive when they made that movie and did in fact change things in the concept stage people didn't like, so it's safe to say they were listening and no one said anything.

Like how Splash Mountain got NAACP approval but now it can't even be mentioned.

These people are delusional to think they just managed to show up right at the moment where the sensitivity march stopped and NOW they got it right and no one will ever complain about them. But I guess when you're not an artist, just someone who judges other people, it doesn't matter.

(People were already saying the whole salt mine thing is insensitive. Disney just decided not to care about that one.)

There were other places to put a lounge, and despite the staggering number of poor decisions made for this park in just the past few years alone, this may be the worst one since they replaced a ride with a meet n greet hall.

The lounge just seems like lucky happenstance, since the Shooting Arcade needs to go away anyway. It would be a shame to just close it and leave the space empty, and to be honest, a DVC lounge might actually eat up more people capacity wise than the shooting arcade.

Their time has past. There was a grand shooting arcade over at Knott's Berry Farm for years and years. Celebrated as the first electronic arcade (Disneyland's originally used BB's if I remember right) and far bigger than anything Disneyland ever had. A few years back they replaced it with a Panda Express.

That Disney's have held out as long as they have is just a sign of their struggling bureaucracy, not a need to maintain their tradition.

Build rides based upon original ideas. Done.
Until someone finds something in those rides offensive. See: Pirates. Haunted Mansion. Original ideas, but then they'll get changed. If seeing a corpse above your head bothers someone, don't look up. But Bob doesn't like original ideas, he only likes movie IP and franchises. Getting that intellectual rot out of the company is going to take years.

Nothing in HM bothers me. Nothing in Splash bothered me. Nothing in Pirates bothered me. The shooting gallery doesn't bother me. Because I'm intelligent enough to know that these are all made-up and not real-life. My kids are intelligent enough to know that these are all made-up and not real-life. Instead of being offended at the presentation of things and demanding things that "offend them" be removed, people should use them as a learning tool and as an example of how far we've come.

Apropos: “The truth is these are not very bright guys, and things got out of hand.”

People who think seriously on these issues do not think it will ever be 100% right. It's always a work in progress. There are always adjustments to be made and new points to consider.

In this case I don't think it's a stretch to think a concept from the 1950s should have some 1990s sensibilities applies to it. It's probably about 30 years late already.

It really is a shame that everything is perceived by the masses to be offensive. In splash’s case we are grown adults (I assume) talking about how a cartoon bunny, fox, and bear with a deep southern accent is “problematic”.

How pirates apparently weren’t “bad” people and did bad things to innocent people including woman and children.

How the American west is a part of our culture and shouldn’t be swept away.

As you said lots of lessons can be learned from this. Time marches on and along with that progress.

That being said though, it is what it is and I hope they are able to reimagine (in splash’s case) into a worthy successor. What’s done is done.

EDIT: I also want to be clear, just because I posted Brayden’s tweet doesn’t mean I believe it. I just wanted to post it here because he has gotten a few things right.

That's why I added the little bit about how these people aren't artists and so don't care.

Splash opened in 89/92.

It is quite a bit smaller than that, and the overall footprint of the space will not be enlarged.
Ouch. That is not going to be a lot of space. Maybe half of what was shown in the post you quoted? And obviously not all of that will be lounge space, there would need to be some backstage stuff for staff and facilities.

So what's your guess on how much the ILL to get into the DVC lounge will go for? $20 per person? $25? $35? Maybe $50 or more on holiday weeks? 😂

Our dues will probably go up if we want that extra blue card to use the Lounge- line a mini Club 33. Pay to play (with the coke machine) lol
