Parent blamers are so annoying. Not everyone knows everything like y'all. Many people view Disney as a different from the real world . That's how they market themselves. I'm sure people from Nebraska weren't so up to date on things in Florida.

No Swimming sign is different from a Stay out the Water sign and will win the parent's their major suit against Disney.

Look at this image below. This lady works for 13-WHAM ABC in Rochester, NY. I cannot believe she would joke about this. Soon after she did, she obviously got a lot of heat and her account was "protected". So disgusting. Just as many of the comments being thrown around here without any actual facts.

It used to be said that most people were really good at heart and the lousy ones are outliers.I think we're starting to come to a realization that it simply isn't the case today. Social media has really allowed people's inner stupidity and coldness to shine through. :(

Anything and everything Disney will do because of this will not prevent it from happening again. This is a knee jerk reaction to an act of God. It is as simple as that. Disney does not and should not have the requirements to protect people from themselves.

I am thankful to never be in such a situation. I have read that the father tried pulling the boy from the alligator. I know the mind is not thinking logically in an instance as this. If it was, it was more important to keep the alligator from getting away. Once those jaws close, it will take hydraulic tools to pry them open. However, holding the gator down and keeping it from fleeing and rolling as more help gets there changes the outcome. Enough people holding the gator down keeps it from taking the boy away.

I'm sorry but some of you folks can't possibly be serious with your takes on this situation?

First of all, this is a body of fresh water in Florida. This body of water empties out into several other bodies of water in the area. Disney can only do so much to keep a species native to the area out. Unfortunately, there are inherent risks involved similar to going to the beach.

I'm more than sure that Disney does everything in their power to keep all guests safe, but some things are out of their control. If someone got struck by a bolt of lightning, would you blame Disney? Would you blame the person?

Also, contrary to popular belief, there are not gators just roaming down the streets here in Florida. This tragedy was an unfortunate freak occurrence. I just pray this family can find closure and can somewhat heal with time.

Truth. This is a freak accident that just so happened on Disney property. If this happened further south, we probably wouldn't even have a thread this large on the topic.

Considering her username on MySpace is "Wonder Booty" I'd say just consider the source.

I don't think these people are bad parents, I'm sure they're good parents who made a bad parenting decision that by very small odds, resulted in unimaginable tragedy. Again, I don't have any kids, but no such thing as a perfect parent, right?
Their only "bad parenting decision" was to take their child outside of the bubble that so many here are, astonishingly, proclaim proudly to keep their kids in.

In my eyes- the latter is the "bad parent".

Not the ones who suffered the horrible loss of their son by allowing him to be at a water edge, right in front of them, at Disney World. There was no mistake made. It was horrible luck.

Oh good grief. Seriously? The child was in clear view, and the parent was right there. Will folks please stop all this judgement?

People should stop blaming Disney with the sign nonsense and fence, etc. stop judging Disney on an incident that is 100x less likely than being struck by lightning.

Exactly. I bet most people don't know that a gator was found carrying around human remains down here just a few weeks ago. It is just an unfortunate situation. But people act as if this is an everyday occurrence. I read somewhere that people are saying they are afraid of going to Disney now. WHY?
