Good for you!

Thanks!!

So how is everyone? Is Betty away right now? I was thinking of her today b/c the kids and I were walking in Newburyport (a seaside town not far from her DD) and I said to them, "I think Spring has finally sprung!" :sohappy: It was a beautiful day here.

Also, is Nicole in NY?

And Jo, wow! Disney's almost here for you! :sohappy:

You too, Jenny.

I'm good. School is almost over(2.5 weeks left!).

I know!! I can't wait!!

I know - just checked my countdown. 51 days! :D

I love hearing the birds sing in the morning this time of year. And my daffodils are beautiful.
Nicole will be in NYC this weekend, I think.

Oh, the birds!! I forgot how pretty the sounds are. They were singing here this morning, too. Still haven't had too many flowers bloom, though. I'm hoping the trees start to bud soon.

Oh! OH!
DOT! I didn't say that.
She did. SHE DID! :sohappy:

So, we just found out that there will be no special activities for any classes the rest of the year. So our 5th graders will not have a pool party. :( To say Abby is disappointed is an understatement. The seniors will not get their class trip to Cedar Point either (which would make Danny howl I'm sure). We're trying to think of something special to do with them at school, but it just won't be the same. Every kid in our school looks forward to being in fifth grade and getting a pool party. :brick:

Aww, that stinks! Why is there no activities?

That stinks. :(

Are the activities victims of budget cuts?

Ok, I officially have that song from Bunny stuck in my head!!!:dazzle:

At least it isn't just me. :dazzle:

Well, initially all field trips were cancelled because of the levy vote in March....even though it's passed they still have to watch their pennies through the next school year. I guess they figured since other activities didn't happen earlier in the year, they would just cancel out the entire year.
It's a shame though. Most kids only get one chance to do this kind of thing. I truly hope they find a way in upcoming years to make it up to them...although it won't benefit our HS graduates.

Totally OT: Have any of you guys been reading the "bun price increase" thread? It's beyond ridiculous.... :brick:

Someone posts that the price increased (I didn't even know you could buy an extra bun at WDW ), and the thread turns into a morality discussion on what's stealing and what isn't.

It's definitely not just you!!:ROFLOL::ROFLOL:

Yeah, that really stinks.:(

I had heard about doing that. I have read the thread, and it's getting ridiculous.

Yep it's pretty silly. I never thought about it - I don't get how it's stealing, actually. If you buy the double cheeseburger and you buy the bun, splitting the burger into two sandwiches makes sense to save some money. You're paying for all of it.
Truthfully I think it's more a case of the rising cost of wheat. Prices are going up everywhere...went to the store today, only got one package of meat, and then the rest of my list...came to about $113. :dazzle: I still need to buy more meat for next week's meals, but I had to wait till Friday's paycheck.

I guess what I don't get is why other people care so much about what some people do when they are on vacation. Same thing with refillable mugs. If someone brings theirs back to re-use (we don't, b/c we use ours for everyday coffee travel mugs and they get trashed pretty quickly), what do you care? I just want to have fun on our trip; not spend time worrying about what the family next to us is doing.

Oh, and Jen you are so right about grocery prices. :dazzle:

Gas here just skyrocketed, too. We were pretty lucky in that we were holding steady at about $3.07/gallon. The station nearest to our house is now $3.22.... :hammer:

There are 4 stations near my house/school. The prices are $3.19, $3.13, $3.10, and $3.07.:dazzle:
