Fridges in the rooms?

It would be cheaper to buy a refillable mug for each member of the family that they could use at the food court. They are $11 each and Pop has slushies on the drink bar that the kids will love.

hi the price of rental is $10 a day plus taxes , we did just last week and lucky we got away with not paying for it when they cocked up the bill.
all i can say is buy the mug for a family of 4 2 would be good anoth they are very good value.
but for breakfast the no t good value , ponderoser in kissimee is only 5 min drive.
the pizza are very good too.
but buy youre bear out side of pop century it $5.00 a bottle.

have fun, missing pop century all ready , its a wonderfull place to stay

Pizza being good depends on where you are from. For example, the pizza in disney or any where in florida for that matter to me is horrible, since I have access to some of the best pizza here in New York City.

I have to agree with those who recommend the refillable mugs. We stayed at Pop in Feb and paid for the fridge. It never got used. We purchased the mugs and used them instead, even taking them to the parks (we had our own stroller with cup holders which helped).

For 11 days, if you really want a fridge, it would probably almost be as cost effective to go to Wal-Mart and buy one outright... even at $10 a day, that's still $110 for the Disney-supplied one. I've seen them in stores for between $60 and $70, especially at back-to-school times... just a thought.

, why not bring your own cans of soda and bottled water and then just get ice from the ice machines? Just a thought:wave:

Why don't you just pack a collapsable cooler in you r suitcase. We usually take a small cooler on the plane and pack cereal and some goodies in a suitcase then at the gift shop buy milk for the cereal and keep it in the cooler.

It's worth noting (although this doesn't apply to you), Disney will provide the refrigerator for free if you have a medical need for it. The last time we stayed at the All-Stars our son had medication that had to be kept refrigerated. We mentioned this when making our reservation, and the refrigerator was provided at no cost.

On both ocassions I have stayed at POR I had a fridge and was never charged.

Fridges are complementary with moderates and higher.
If you just want to keep a few things cold, a cooler would work (just remember to leave it in the bathtub--condensation could get stuff wet). Remember, too, to keep replacing the ice--maybe refill it twice a day.
That's my Pop Century solution, btw.

Agree, best thing would be a cooler. On our most recent trip we drove to a Walmart and bought a big plastic bin that you would use to hold sodas/beers at a party for like $6. Kept it in the room with soda, juice, coldcuts, and milk in it all week and it worked great! I will do this everytime now. Also, pick up some coldcuts and bread and bring sandwiches to the park. It's relatively cheap and saved us a ton of money. I don't know why, but the sandwiches just tasted better in the parks as well. Maybe there's some Disney physics behind it.

The tip about Publix is true. If you have a car, you might want to make a trip there and save some money. THere is one right near the premium outlets just off Interstate 4. We are DVC members so have refrig and we rent a car for at least trip from Airport, and always stop at Publix and stock up.
Thanks for the info on Deluxe Resorts, as this year we are using our points and staying four days at Animal Kingdom Lodge. So will make sure to arrange a refrigerator.
