I recently was hit with a pretty nasty virus called Magistr B. Norton and McAfee could not detect it. It sent emails to everyone in my address book who inadvertently got the virus too.....that's probably how I got it in the first place...it wreaked havoc with the WIN files and I could not click on any icons on my desktop...everytime i tried to put my cursor over an icon, it scooted away from me like two magnets with the same polarity. My computer also shut down without warning.....completely shut off......and there were a half dozen other problems too.
As a last resort, I downloaded a 30 day trial version of a virus scan called Quickheal and it promptly detected the virus and automatically eliminated it completely. I have recommended this virus scan to others who have told me it detected viruses that the BIG names overlooked...It automatically prompts you weekly for virus dat file updates.
