I dunno... Look at the last photo before the flatware photo. On the last column, you can see where the bridge support will be mounted. On the DVC resort, you can see the floor that this mark lines up with. This one is the lower of two floors that also have gaps in the facing, which I assume is where the outside of the bridge will connect to the DVC Tower. Counting up from ground-level, this would be the 5th floor.

The only way that it would still be the 4th floor would be if the DVC Tower is numbered in the British system of Ground,1,2,3,4....

I guess what i'm seeing, since i am having problems telling where they line up, is that the first floor appears to take up two levels of scaffold.

Nice pics.

Did anyone notice that the 4th floor of the Contemporary Tower (where the pedestrian bridge connects) looks like it'll line up with the 5th floor of the DVC Tower? ("Wait... we're on the 4th floor... No, 5th floor... No wait, 4th floor....")

-Rob

Easy, the first floor of the new Tower will be called the basement.

Also, the reason the walkway zig-zags is to provide support against winds from both sides without having to put in support posts on both sides in each spot.

I wish that instead of making retro lines of merchandise, WDW went back to the retro way of running the Vacation Kingdom.

I wish they would also go back to the old marketing slogan of "Vacation Kingdom of the World". It was snazzy and simple without bludgeoning you over the head with Wishes, Magic or Dreams marketing mumbo-jumbo.

I'm loving that flatware and the SSE picture frame...more things to add to the list...

Many thanks for the update and pics! :)

Heading for the great escape.
Is the DVC building being built by the same contractors that did airfield constructions in the Cold war era, seems to have that feel to it.

Great update, Thanks! I can't believe how far the DVC has come since we were there.
I love the flatware! I'll be putting that on my wishlist. :)

Merf, do you have any other info on the Plastic Works? My girls love that exhibit/attraction. Does anyone know if it is being replaced, renovated, cleaned?

One or two of the Cast Members I talked to there said that it is going to be replaced by...

Are you ready for this...?

An exhibit where you create your own roller coaster.

Merf,

Thanks for the update. I hope to make it over for the Flower and Garden Festval. Love the Mickey flatware. I see a couple of sets in my future. :)

I suspect the "drawing" on the overlook area at the Contemporary is where the walkway from the DVC wing will come in, no?? And the supports in the concept art show that they are on alternating sides of the walkway. So that is in line with your photos.

Thanks for keeping us updated!!!
