Anyone else planning trips on their birthdays in 2009??

I am going in January 23-27,the 26th being my birthday. :sohappy:

I think I am going to take the gift card/merchandise option so I can buy myself a present and get something for my daughter...

I think you can only get that if you have an AP. I could be wrong.

I planned a trip March 22-27, which includes DH's March 25 birthday. :king: We'll also enjoy a little spring training baseball while we're there. It will be a great birthday for him--combining WDW and baseball, his two favorite things!

I wouldn't go on my birthday, which is July 30. Too Hot and Crowded.

I'm a bit confused on this whole promotion. Let's say, you plan your vacation and it falls on your birthday. Your whole family buys 7 day passes. But one of the days is your birthday, so you only have to buy a 6 day pass, saving you about $6. Or, do they offer you the merchandise card instead? That would be pretty cool.

Is that how it works?

This promotion makes no sense...you save around $6 for going in free on your birthday when you are there for a week big deal

According to the official information, if a Guest who has already purchased an admission ticket (Annual Pass, Seasonal Pass or Multi-day Magic Your Way ticket) visits a domestic Disney Theme Park on their birthday, they will have the choice of one of the following:
  • A "Birthday Fun Card," in a value equivalent to the price of a one-day Magic Your Way Base Ticket, that may be used for merchandise purchases at any WDW-owned merchandise location; only valid on the day of the Guest's birthday.
  • A special birthday Fastpass ticket, which provides four Fastpass entitlements to every Guest in the party (up to 6 guests). Note: may not be available after 11:00 am.
  • A one-day Magic Your Way base ticket, valid on any date within 12 months from the Guests date of birth, to be used only by the Guest celebrating their birthday.
Note that proper photo ID must be presented in order to be eligible. If you wish, you may register online at disneyparks.com. According to what I'm reading, you must present an alternate form of previously-purchased admission media, though not necessarily an Annual Pass, in order to get the Birthday Fun Card or Birthday Fastpass. You must be present at a Disney Theme Park ticket window on your birthday (and show proper ID) in order to be eligible for this promotion.

OK, that's pretty cool. I'd be very happy with either the fastpass or the Fun Card. I thought there had to be more to it than I was reading.
