Does anyone have the inside track to know when they will start offering the free meal plan again?

The rumor I heard is that the next time someone asks that question in a forum, they will stop offering free dining from now on.

Oh good job! You just blew it for everybody!

(j/k obviously - but that question gets asked somewhere on this forum about every two weeks.)

More than likely if it was offered until December 20th of this year for now through September, I don't forsee them offering it again this year. We already booked our September trip with free dining back in October with the date to make our ADR's set for next month. They could possibly open it up for bookings next year though.

With apologies to those who plan their vacations around this offer, I really hope Disney never offers free dining again. I think it has done a great disservice to WDW as a whole. I think it's sad we've gotten to the point where people expect free dining when they plan their trips.

I know I'll be in the minority, but that's my $.02.

Here is my problem...I booked 9/26-10/2 with the free meal plan. I called to add 9/25 and they would not give me the extra day with the meal plan stating that it would require a new reservation and they are not offering the free meal program at this time. Amazing that they do not want my money.

Lebeau, thanks for the encouraging words. FYI this is my 5th time to WDW and the first time I have used the meal plan. Just looking for info.

I know disney has just released a PIN code for free dining in the fall, but nothing has been released to the General Public for Free Dining as of now... Historically, as another poster said free dining has been released to the general public for the fall sometime in April in past years... But being that they already offered free dining for this fall (it had to be booked by 12/20/10), I'm not sure it will be offered again.

Now when you say "fall" do you mean the PIN for July to middle of August?? Or, is there another one that encompasses dates through December?? :)
Just wondering because it seems when people say "Free Dining in the Fall" they are frequently referring to September, but not past then.

I believe it's thru Oct 1st, but don't quote me on that. The PIN is definitely not thru Dec as a few have been in the past.

Keep checking to see if they offer it again but since it is only one day, just budget some money and pay cash for the food for that day. The dining plan isn't per day, either. It is per night. So there will be one day where you will need to space out your meals if you don't expect to pay anything out of pocket anyway. We are going during the summer and have the dining plan. We are there for 6 days/5 nights so on one of the days we already scheduled a dinner at TRex, planning on just paying for it while we are there. (It's not on the plan anyway and we really want the kids to experience it.) This means we will get 5 TS, 5 S and 5 QS....not 6 each. I wasn't sure if you realized that but if you have please forgive me.

Sorry if this doesn't help but this is my $.02. :)

That's so odd that they wouldn't let you add a date in September. My vacation, including the free meal plan, is scheduled from September 12-20 and just a week ago I had to shift the days a bit from what was originally September 8-16. Same amount of days though. Maybe adding on changes the offer.

You could make a reservation for the 9/25 separate, and then check back in on 9/26 for your package and receive your tickets, dining, etc. Make your first day a pool day or a day at downtown disney or something that doesn't require a ticket.
