I booked a Xmas cruise through DVC last January for my daughter and I, but now her mother won't let her go, so now I'm looking at going on the cruise alone and wasting the 2nd spot in the room. DVC has offered to wave the $95 name change fee on the booking, but I've been unable to find someone to go with me (one being the key word). I've met some forum members at WDW before and know that you are all Disney enthusiasts, so we'd have that in common. I only looking for a companion to share dinners, shows and to have someone to talk to back at the room. I'm not sure how to handle something such as this if someone was interested.
I'm a 55yo single man who snores, over 30+ years at my job, planning to retire soon to WDW.
Guess you'd have to meet me somewhere for the trip over to Port Canaveral (to avoid paying for parking there). Any interest?

And since this is my 6th Disney Cruise, as a Gold member we would be able to attend a special Castaway Club Onboard Reception...Meet and mingle with the ship's officers at a private party on voyages 4-nights and longer.
and Special Merchandise Offering...Take advantage of special onboard shopping opportunities.

I am single male, straight, 55 ...and live in Naples...that's me in the avitar
The only drawback is I snore and I'd take the big bed.
Normally I drive up at least a day early to WDW, so it's only an hour drive from WDW in the morning (instead of 4)...although that didn't work out too good last time since I forgot my passport at work, had to drive almost the whole way back to Naples, met someone in Punta Gorda, then drove all the way back to PC made it just in time...made a great story to tell (was VERY stressful at the time, though)
Normally we stay at this cheap motel near Disney called the Magic Castle...www.magicorlando.com
you'd need at least a birth certificate (a real one, not an Obama one), ideally a passport

I'm 5'7" 300 and fit fine...there's a privacy curtain between the big bed and the conversion couch, although I don't know how long the couch is?
Have you been on a Disney cruise before? From what I understand the rooms are much bigger than normal cruise liners...there is very little wasted space, though.
I recommend bringing a large 52oz Bubba keg (http://www.shopbubba.com/c-17-mugs.aspx) you can usually find them in the sporting goods section of Target/Walmart, otherwise you are stuck using the small cardboard cups they provide at the 24 hour free beverage bar on Deck 10

Where in Tampa are you?
Problem with this is that Tampa would be a little out of the way, so if I was driving up in the morning, I'd have to wake up and extra hour early for a 5+ hour trip instead of a straight 4 hour trip from home. And I plan on driving straight home (Magic Castle is directly on the way) on Friday to pick up my daughter to come right back up to WDW. So Tampa would turn a 7 hour trip into a 9 hour trip.
We could meet at the Magic Castle in the morning (giving me the option to go up a day early and play Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom on Saturday), then take either car over (I know the people at Magic Castle after hundreds of stays there and they won't mind if we leave a car there), it would be nice if we split the parking and the tips, though.
I had 2 excursions planned for my daughter and I that I will probably cancel now.

Magic Castle is in a safe area, I've been staying there for over a dozen years.
It's right on 192 (ease) next to the CiCis Pizza Olive Garden,Arbys, Taco Bell just before the road that heads north to I4, before 192 hangs that big right before the SuperTarget.
Theres a gocart and helicoptor ride right next door. Less than $40 per night, they usually charge me only $32.

as you walk in.
Metal door, so you can stick magnets on the outside to personalize it...I generally stick a message board on it, closet one side bath the other (not-split) shower is real nice with removable adjustable spray (women probably love it;-)). Toiletries are amazing (sold on-board as well). Then couchbed (futon?) coffee table and long desk flat-screen TV mounted above it (not a lot of cable channels, but a lot of movie channels), then the big bed in the back with a 'magic' port-hole above it which, during the day, shows an outside view via camera...and occasionally a Disney character will look in (so you can flash Ariel, but please not when I'm in the room). then there's the privacy curtain between the big bed and the rest of the room

Not sure what they can do with the credit cards, I know that they can take more than one when you're settling your bill because one cruise Chase Disney Visa lowered my credit limit while I was on the cruise (I sent CDV like $500 so I'd have $500 credit to spend on the ship) so when I checked out my card failed...luckily I didn't charge/buy much and was able to scratch together enough pay the bill.
I'm a night guy, too, usually not considering sleep until after midnight...you might catch me running around the ship late at night when it is quiet just to enjoy the solitude and quiet...and I sleep easily and bring a mask (eye cover) in case you stay up to watch all the o on the TV...
And God are these ships GEORGIOUS!!! You will be blown away with the detail...and of course the giant Xmas tree and decorations on the ship and Castaway Cay.
The food is to die for, I generally order 2-4 entries a meal so I can try everything and your wait staff follows you from restaurant to restaurant so they get to know you and what you want (lots of diet coke, NO straw).
What I'll do is try to get us on a 3-way with Disney Vacation Club so we can update the reservation and since each room 'key' is monitored the night before we check out we should be able to settle with the front desk, if we can't specifically put each card on it's own credit card.
Bingo is a big thing where people spend $40 for like 70 cards on a computer which tracks the numbers for you..you almost don't need to be there?!?

I'll have to somehow get you the list of excursions in case you want to go on any (if they weren't in the email attachment)

They can set each KttW card up on seperate credit cards. I think you can do it online on the DCL website. @JeffH, if you've done your online check-in already you can go back in and edit it. I've read it's during the check-in process that you can do the different credit cards on each person's name. I would imagine it could be done onboard, too.

@StarBurst, the convertible sofa bed is very near a standard twin size bed. My 16 year old son is closing in on 6'/220 lbs. and he fits confortably.

Very exciting for y'all!

I hope you guys have a great time. If I weren't going to have my whole family with me at WDW, I might try to take you up on the offer myself!! (My dad was a huge snorer, so I have earplugs already!)
