It is a promotion that Disney runs if you book your trip during a certain time.
The dates this time were certain dates in August until October 3rd.
If you booked a trip during this time you can take advantage of "free dining"
You get a certain amount of credits to use on dining but what it boils down to is 1 snack per day, 1 counter service meal per day, and 1 table service meal per day.
Or you can use the credits however you wanted. You could have three table service meals in one day, but then that uses up the amount of table service meals you have for the whole trip.
I am not an expert on it, but that is basically what it is all about. I am sure others have more complete info.
Basically it is an awesome deal! I have booked reservations to so many restaurants I would never go to if I was paying for it because they are just too expensive for me.

It is an awesome deal! We never would have eaten so many great meals, and we didn't pay for any of them!
Free dining is available for check ins from August 22 to October 3rd and must be booked by July 26th.

Minor but important point - the meals are per nights stay - so 7 nights at your hotel (8 day trip) you get 7 sets of meal credits - not 8.

It's my first time taking advantage of it, but I think my family is sick and tired of hearing me going on and on about how we got free dining!

if they have never eaten at the resturaunts they should change there tune once they see all the food and how good it is. At least I did when I did this for the first time back in 06. I thought it was to good to be true but man was I wrong, I thought you would have to choose from a special menu or have limited choices like a hamburger or chicken sandwhich, but you will get the full menu.
