Free Dining rolls on till Dec in UK

Just changed my booking for our stay at Thanksgiving. The UK website shows free dining extended until the week before Christmas.

Took the opportunity to swap my booking, the price of which, even allowing for the exchange rate was still $180 a night cheaper than that available currently in the US and now comes with free scran.

Oh the financial meltdown........................

I got a pin code last year for free dining during that 3rd week of December. It was the cherry on the sundae for me - had already paid for the trip, got the pin code right before Thanksgiving, and was able to apply it to my existing reservation. Save me about $700.00. Merry Christmas to me!!

Man, I took my 2nd vacation at work for the week leading up too Thanksgiving, I hope they do this I will SO go 2 months after I get back to see Christmas! :drevil:

I know the UK gets a lot of discounts we don't get in the States because when you all take Holidays here they are much longer than the average. Is it normal to get free dining during the Thanksgiving, and Christmas season? Also did they have any extra special ticket, and room discounts?

Ticket prices are now fairly uniform, with only a few ££ between the normal web based discounters and Disney. Disney and Virgin are tied as currently the cheapest (unusually). And they are all doing 14 days for the price of 7, but I should point out that this is still £50 a ticket higher than a 14 day ticket last year.

There are room discounts 43% but and this is my concern, they are only at Saratoga Springs and Old Key West. Does that mean DVC members struggling to get in, or do they expect members to go to the new as yet unsold other units?

If you buy a ticket and room package they are bundling a few extras like vouchers for Planet Hollywood, preferred viewing for the fireworks, free crazy golf and a few other things that Im not sure what they mean.

There was none of this last year at this time that I can remember, Im sure it only went as far as early Nov. I may be wrong, but I think there were some discounts but not including dining.

Now that's what I call discounts. I just can't understand them making those kind of offers at that time of year.

That is going to be hard for any Disney fan in the UK to pass up.

Free dining was a better deal for us with a party of 5 with four adults staying for 8 nights at POR. You would just have to do the math to see which way that you would come out better. :animwink:

I booked GF with the buy 10 days and stay for 14 with the same ticket deal, checked the price for the Beach club with free dining upgraded to deluxe and its £200 more than staying at GF!!!!!!!!!!!!! As for the PH voucher and preferred viewing got them last year as well as this year.

Hi, I have booked with Walt Disney Travel Company and they seem to use Virgin for flights etc. Can I take advantage of this? I didn't realise you could amend booking, I thought once you had booked you had missed out on any future deals being advertised:shrug: We are going 25 June for 2 weeks.

Terms and conditions say you can cancel at no charge up to 56 days out, and Im not going till thanksgiving. I just cancelled my existing booking. No different to booking via a US based Disney travel specialist who will modify and change rates as they become available.

That said my flights were booked separately with Virgin Atlantic so we are only talking about the hotel element.

Didnt you get free dining when you booked? I thought it had been offered more or less since the start of the year with no black out dates.

NB: Ive just looked at the web site, its for stays from Aug 2nd till Dec 17th

When I glanced at the title of this thread, I thought the OP was saying Disney was offering free "dinner rolls". I was like, since when did Disney start charging extra for bread with dinner!!!! Took me a couple of reads to finally get it.
