Free dining plan question Re: sharing meals

If your family has the Free dinning offer as well as the upgrade, is there any issue with sharing a meal? My daughter (16) and I both don't eat a lot and typically waste food. I was wondering if its forbidden to share meals on the plan. We could then use the extra meals for breakfast.

I have never done it, so i'm not completely sure but I dont think it will be a problem. If you are at a restaurant (non buffet) then just order 1 entree to share and you will only be docked the 1 credit. The waiter will ask if you are on the dining plan or not, and then your account will be charged appropriately. You may have to pay OOP for 1 drink though, since the dining credit only includes 1 drink. Also, I would tip well.

Thanks for asking the question, I was just coming here to do the same myself. We are planning for a 1st time trip and got the free dining which we upgraded as well. On the day we are in HS we really wanted to do both Sci-Fi Cafe and 50's Prime Time, but the reservations we got for lunch and dinner are only 3 hours apart. The plan for now is to share meals at each.

Even sharing and doing both those places on;y a few hours apart probably isnt a great idea. I feel you won't really be hungry and won't fully enjoy the experience.

This is a tough one since I ate at Sci-Fi and I know 50's Prime Time has big meals as well. You also may want to go back on the dinning reservation site daily to see if someone cancelled and a later spot has opened. People book several restaurants and then cancel as it gets closer, so time frames may open up. Good luck!

Yes we are checking daily with hopes of moving the lunch at Sci-Fi up to an earlier time.

I agree, though I understand the preference to try to do both. It's also a lot of somewhat-concentrated-time not touring the parks

Were you not on the plan, I'd suggest getting your meal in one restaurant and your dessert in the other.
