Free dining not for dvc members, why??

Just out of curiousity how come the free dining when offered is not available for dvc members??

In short ... It's a good deal that we can get it at all. We don't have to pay rack rates for the hotel room and we don't have to purchase park tix to get the dining plan and we can do it anytime of year not just hurricane season.

The DDP for DVC members is exactly the same as the one offered year-round for persons buying MYW Packages [just not the August/September "free" dining that's all the rage today].

So, If we own dvc do we need to purchase a MYW package to get DDP or can we just purchase it outright?

You can just purchase it outright. You just don't get the free dining.

I would rather not have free dining, that means everyone and their mother would be eating at the different places I like to eat.

I do however like the DDP as it has worked very well for us the last two years.
