Free Dining 8/28/11-9/24/11

Personally I doubt it. October and November usually need less discounts for people to book.

Do you think? They've offered it in the last few years and there has been a free dining offer (other than pin codes) for Oct - Dec for 2011. That time period wasn't included in that initial massive free dining offer from last fall.

That figures... My trip starts two weeks later, and of course I will not be able to use it. We did go this past October, and received a PIN # for our trip in August. Hopefully we will get another.

In checking MouseSavers for historical discounts for previous years, it was extended into October-December, but not until July, sometimes not until as late as July 27. If I recall correctly, the availability was very limited by then. They were using to try to fill empty rooms, as usual.

So I'll modify my statement to read - "perhaps, but you probably won't see it for October-December until mid July - if they still need to fill rooms"

Well here is my question to all you professionals....I booked in January with a PIN code Disney sent me.....it was basically 30% off a mod or whatever...I'm booked in to POFQ 9/18 - 9/24....again this was thru a special PIN code. Sooooo can I get the free dining also since this is technically "separate"? In other words the free dining on top of my rezzie that was booked using the PIN??? Everything in my heart tells me I should be able to...BUT are you allowed to piggy back like that...I'm thinking if I booked with a regular GP room discount - no...I wouldn't be able to...but the PIN and this GP free dining says yes?? correct? OMG I HOPE SO! lol :ROFLOL:

It doesn't matter that your discount was a PIN code offer vs. general public. It's still a percentage off. If I'm not mistaken the free dining offer says something along the lines of "with a regular rate room". There's also a minimum stay and minimum ticket requirement to be eligible. Disney doesn't combine offers whether they're regular or PIN offers. Call & have them quote you some numbers with the discount. Never hurts to look to see if it's worth it.

I hear ya! I wish it could be combined, too. I have pre- and post- cruise room-only's in September as well. Generally, if you have a room-only discount (in the 40% range) on a deluxe the savings off rack rate will be greater than what you'd pay for the dining plan making free dining not the way to go for the greater savings. Moderates it's not as cut & dry. It depends on the group, how many are kids, etc. Last November we did free-dining at POFQ. Our boys are teens so the dining saved us like $160/day. The 35% or 30% off the rack rate at POFQ wouldn't have saved us that much. Normally the free-dining offers don't appeal to us because we're passholders and don't need the tickets that are required in the package so that added cost doesn't help us. However, last November 3 of our passes had expired so we "upgraded" 3 of the park tickets on our KttW cards. The 4th unused ticket is still sitting upstairs in my nightstand. It'll be upgraded to an AP for my hubby this September when we go. That's where doing the free dining was finally worthwhile for us last year. We had to buy 3 AP's anyway and we were staying in a moderate.

You never know, tho. It never hurts to ask. I always do just to see the numbers because it makes my brain feel better. Even with a great room-only discount on my rooms in September I called to see what the package prices with the discounts would be for my family. I was just curious where the numbers fell. It wasn't even close to being worth-it for us.

OH! And I gotta say, I'm really glad the Disney VISA free-dining offer wasn't worth it for our September trip. Because of the Playstation Network security breech, we had called and had our Disney VISA and all our debit cards for our accounts reissued as a precaution. I don't have my new Disney VISA card yet and have no idea what the new number will be. Even if I wanted the discount I couldn't get it because you have to provide the card number when you book.
