France movie-ready for new one?

OK, You guys have honestly inspired me to see it again. Maybe it will have the same effect on me as "Country Bear Jamboree". Gave it just one more chance, after finding it "lame" and "boring". Now, I love it.

Country Bear Jamboree! I loathed that attraction, well...that is a strong word, but I was not a fan. I grew up going to Disneyland and it was located at the dead end/cul de sac that is Bear(now Critter) Country. Somehow we'd always end the night at Haunted Mansion and my Mom wanted to follow that up with the Country Bears(a favorite of hers along with America Sings, which being a dumb kid I didnt care for either, I wanted to go on RIDES!) I figured it would always be there but to my shock they ripped it out and replaced it with Winnie the Pooh!

So when I finally made it to Disney World and saw that the Bears were still there, I had to see the show. I LOVED it, it really is hilarious...I could not stop laughing, completely came around on the Country Bears, I adore The Sun Bonnet Trio and Henry's living Coonskin hat. Marvelous show!

When they finally decide to update a few of the scenes I hope they maintain the classical music and narration. The film is an Epcot classic that really needs to be handled with care.

The cars and clothes date the film, but the use of classical music and the French architecture and landscape(as much as 1100 years old as put in this thread) give it a rather timeless quality. But it is not everyone's taste and that's ok too.

OK...slight rant here...you've been warned should you continue:

I think it is unfortunate that our "Popular Culture" has "dated" and "evolved" past things like this. I was struck by how classy and elevating the Grand Opening Gala(Orchestral Music, elegantly clothed popular singers, acrobatic performers in elaborate set pieces) of Shanghai Disneyland was compared to the loud, youth/hip obsessed 60th anniversary Disneyland Special, I'm officially an(38 yr old) old fart I know. Oh well, the late 20th & 21 st century American obsession with perpetual adolescence continues...

Rant over

Totally agree. I'm only a few years older than you, but have always been an "old soul" at heart. I wish live entertainment and society in general would move beyond just worshipping the latest top 40 and hip hop acts and also make some room to celebrate things that are actually more than 15 minutes old. I wish more quality attractions, films, music and entertainers were considered "timeless" and appreciated/showcased no matter what decade we're in. But the U.S. culture definitely doesn't roll that way...

Yes, give it a chance! From one perspective, the movie is just an outdated travelogue, and a boring one at that. Very true. From another, it is a visual poem, a musical and cinematic impression. As such, it is timeless, the way movies from the 1930s, 50s or 80s too are their own works of art and don't require updates.
