FP+ for Be Our Guest - A Tale of Two CMs With Conflicting Information: What's the Real Deal?

Can anyone with experience with a BOG Fastpass+ within the last week or two clue us in on how it's being done right now?

I had to call Disney's restaurant reservation and computer tech./FP+ lines today about a couple of different issues. This is what I learned (or didn't learn!) from two CMs who told me completely different things when I asked how to obtain (or look for) a lunchtime FP+ for BOG:

The restaurant reservation CM said: WDW is sending out BOG FP+ invitations solely through e-mail. It's only to onsite guests, but whether you get one is luck-of-the-draw and totally random, both as far as who they select, and when they hear about it. The only thing you can do is keep checking your e-mail. If you don't get an invitation, you can't make a BOG FP+, even if you have the link to the reservation site. (This seems to conflict with some anecdotal reports on this forum by guests who were able to use the link to make BOG Fp+, even though they were never "invited" to do so, by e-mail or otherwise.)

The computer/FP+ CM said: (1) WDW was sending random BOG FP+ invitations to onsite guests ahead of time, but that practice has been discontinued and FP+ are no longer being offered in advance. Instead, WDW e-mails randomly selected onsite guests immediately prior to check-in (like, on the day they're due to arrive) to tell them that they can make a BOG FP+. I said, "how will I even know if I get an e-mail? We'll spend half of our arrival day on a plane, and I don't have a Smartphone by which to access e-mails." She said, "ask about it when you check-in. If you've been randomly selected for the opportunity to make a BOG FP+, the CM will be able to see that in your reservation information. If the CM doesn't mention it to you when you're checking in, ask them to check and see if you've been selected. If you have, then the CM will be able to help you make the FP+ at that time for BOG."

What the heck!??! Does anybody have any actual knowledge of which story (if any) is correct? Asking a CM at check-in to make me a FP+ for BOG just sounds bizarre, but who knows? I'm 48 days away from arrival and starting to get anxious!

They're constantly changing the rules, so I can't say for sure what they're doing right now, but....

We visited the week before last. At about 30-days out, I used the well-known link to go to the BoG FP+ page, logged in with my MDE credentials, and was able to make a BoG FP during the first 7 days of our trip.

There are a lot of conflicting reports, and since this is also still technically a "test" I'm sure CMs all have different information. It's very hit and miss.

I just suggest that you go to the page every day and log in to see if the days of your trip show up. If they do, try to make one. If not, there probably isn't anything you can do to force it to work, unfortunately.

Seems a bit silly what the Computer CM said. You make a good point. How are you supposed to check when youre on an airplane or dont have a smart phone? And if you didnt know to ask at check-in does it just go unused or wasted? I wish I could help, but we didnt even try to get int BoG on our last few trips. Too much hassle/wait. Good luck though, hope you get in!

Keep us updated. I was really hoping to get a FP+ for lunch in May. The weird thing is that I can log into the site and it shows the days I will be there and lets me "pick" the day that I want and then says there are none available, but when I log in using my in-laws account it doesn't even let them get past the first page- all the options are grayed out.

Here was my experience.
I kind of did it the way @Tom describes. I used the link we all shared last fall when it first opened a a FP option. I was about 30 days from my arrival date. The date options it was giving me to book a FP+ was the last week of Feb and first week of March and I wasn't arriving til Mar 8th. About 24 days from the 8th I was able to log onto that link and my actual dates were available and I made myself a lunch reservation AND PRINTED THAT PAGE. Because if you don't print that page you will never have proof you have a FP for lunch.
I got the same info as you when in the interim of my dates opening up I called and spoke to dining. I was told about the "random" email. I guess the random thing is something WDW likes, kind of like the PIN Code crap.

On March 14th I got an email from disney destinations about using FP to dine for lunch at BOG. Mar14th was the day I checked out of WL and went to BLT. I never clicked on the link because Friday I was so burnt out from being up half the night because of a stupid load that cratered I could barely function and I was moving to BLT so all morning I was busy plus we were observing Lent so I already knew where we were dining Friday.
Saturday was our last day basically and my last opportunity to eat at LTT and I was determined to get me some ooey gooey toffee cake so BOG lunch was not an option there either...

I think FP for BOG lunch is one of the mysteries of disney, again like the Pin Codes....

I got FastPass for BOG about 3 weeks ago for 4/27 using the online link. Never got an email. Seems that everyone's experience is different. No consistency at all.

They opened up all of February on Jan 15th, then opened up March and April on Feb 14th. I was hoping that they would be opening up all of May by now, but it hasn't happend yet. Could be any day now, could be a month from now. God I hope it's not a month from now..

For some users it is requiring reservation info, but rejecting it if it contains letters. Happened to a coworker of mine, they were never able to get into the page to get a FP+.

However it continually works for me despite the fact I don't have a trip booked for quite some time.

Interesting. I wonder if that's because those guests haven't completely setup their MDE accounts or linked their reservations properly.

I just logged into the BoG page and it's showing me today + 6 days (through 3/23) and it's actually allowing me to book FP+ for it. I have to assume it's because we visited recently and are still in the system as "approved".

Go to magic bands and cards on mde. Look where it says order and there will be a confirmation number there that is different from the one on the my reservations page. I had to do this for my in laws when the other number didn't work. It may have to do with booking through another company or not having a package?

I had to enter my reservation number for our November trip, now it just has me sign in. It is allowing me to book FP+ for the next week also. Our last trip was in November and our next one isn't until June. It only shows the two of us that were there in November, so I hope that closer to June it adds in the other members of our party.

I just had a FP+ for Be Our Guest, I was not eligible, did not show any times available until I received an email on the day we checked in, March 12. The nice thing was it was not a part of my 3 normal fastpasses, so I got 4 that day!!

The BOG FP+ does not count as a "fastpass" for anyone for purposes of the 3-attraction limit -- it's a completely separate type of reservation under a completely separate system. To avoid confusion they really ought to call it a "dining Fastpass" or something, but the confusion boat has already sailed! :)

We are going in a month and have used BoG FP+ before. However, it now only shows one week, when in the past I was able to go to the days of our trip and make a selection.

Wait...what's all this about having to have a fastpass for the Be Our Guest Restaraunt??? We are hoping/planning a trip next May, and our date to make ADRs will be Nov 24. I was hoping to book an ADR for this restaraunt. Are you saying that I can't do that now? Now I have to have some kind of a fastpass for it?

The FP+ is for lunch. ADR are for the evening table service.Nothing to worry about yet.
