They would have enough property for a new park entirely. assuming that fox would still exist under disney like Marvel and Lucasfilm. we could have a park that could sink Universal.

No hints, aside from don’t expect any P&R IP injection in the medium term.

Thanks for the response.

I couldn't really imagine anything that would work in the next 5 years, maybe not even 10. After that point, I consider everything Blue Sky anyway.

True, i still cant believe it. such a missed opportunity.

Can any one IP really sustain a park though? I also think SW fans are more fickle than people care to believe. Traditional fans got their knickers in a knot over it and threw fits online. The question is really can new fans replace the old? We already see fatigue in merchandising sales and such. It's a great series and there is a lot of potential, but I think it'd be really dumb to build an entire park around it.

Just like I think injecting IP in to every ride is silly. What happens when it isn't popular anymore? Just look at what happened to Alien encounter with stitch. It was a mediocre attraction, the IP became less popular, and people became less willing to endure it. Disney would end up in a situation like Universal, constantly spending capex to refresh attractions based on popularity. Not everything can be like Star Tours with enduring fun and cheap updates.

I think it would be a tremendously bad idea to base an entire park on a single IP regardless of how popular and dynamic that IP may be.

Just to clarify this is in reference to Star Wars not anything Fox related.

IP's a plenty, Ice Age for Dinoland, Rio for Brazilian Pavilion, Planet of the Apes, Percy Jackson, Maze Runner, Alien, & Predator for Shadowlands (wishful thinking gate #5) X files & X men for DHS. Point is there are a lot of potential IP's, just as there is with Disney's current works. The big if... do they utilize them.

fox ip's enter the stable in time, but how many ip's does twdc already own (or create, even) that would be near perfect for p&r that are either underutilized or unrealized?
... nobody's salivating at the thought of opening Disney's Fox World - and why should/would they unless a super-ripe ip emerges

also no reason to worry twdc will run out of ip to insert regardless lol

Yeah my feeling is that Galaxys Edge will slowly expand over time. Star Wars is an IP like no other. its a monster that even the most casual of fans will want to flock to galaxys edge

X-men can't happen for DHS. X-men only can be used at Disneyland, Shanghai, Japan, France, and Hong Kong Disney resort theme parks.

Universal is currently using X-men in their Islands of Adventure park.

Shame that Russia pavilion isn't going to happen.....As they now have the rights to Anastasia..

As far as new IP in the parks, I would expect something X-Men related and probably not until after adding X-Men to a new MCU film.

As far as Disney adding a 5th park, I believe the issue there would be that the city of Orlando would not support it.

You stole my idea:p. I've been working on Wisconsin Disneyland resort off and on since January and I've been working on Travel Showcase Park. I've been putting the ideas down on Microsoft Word.

Travel Showcase is a country only theme park that I'm looking at doing anywhere from 17 to 22 countries. The catch is Travel showcase is not going to have a food and wine festival and guests are going to limited on how much booze they drink. I'm sorry, but I don't want drunk guests climb up pyramids in Peru Pavilion and Egypt Pavilion. Travel showcase also doesn't have any countries that Epcot's World Showcase has.

Travel Showcase is one out of my 4 theme parks on over 1,200 acres of land with lots of hotels along with Downtown Disney. I only worked on 2 of the theme parks so far including Disney's America Park with them being incomplete and have potential of more changes. Disney's America Park does not have any IPS at all. When I'm done it would be in the imageering forum.

My Russia Pavilion concept for Travel Showcase has Anastasia trackless ride since January, but don't know if I will add the Pavilion. It depends on how many countries I want that park to have.

I already have Emperor's New Groove, and Hercules IPs for Travel showcase.
