Off track drama now. Vettel disqualified from the race for failing to have at least 1 liter of fuel remaining in the car after the race. Hamilton finishes 2nd, gains 2 more points over Verstappen.

Hamilton publicly calls out the Mercedes team, says it was the team’s fault he didn’t win. Mercedes refutes this, says they made the right call.

Kinda sad we have a 4 week break. Things are heating up all over.

Yeah, if he didn't have the intermediate tires on, the race would've been over and Hamilton would've handily won.

Then again, if it wasn't for Alonso brilliantly defending, Hamilton may have won anyways.

The Japanese Grand Prix in October has been officially canceled for 2021. F1 is currently looking at other options as a replacement.

Doesn't Hamilton get paid if he races or not? I heard he gets a very high flat salary every year he competes.

I honestly have no idea. I would assume at least some of his contract is guaranteed, along with the “No Verstappen” clause. 😏

Well that was probably the most boring race I’ve ever watched.

Anyway, it’s in the books now. I do understand the hesitancy to run the race at Spa especially, given the visibility conditions.

Visibility was awful. Please, max, don't turn into lewis, "I'm ok so everyone else should be too". Right decisions made todsy, even if painful.

Totally wrong decision. Should have postponed until Monday . That wasn't a race and I am amazed points were awarded.
Shocking bad call by the race officials/F1 management.

I think they felt they wouldn’t have enough volunteers to staff adequate safety measures on the track to run it Monday. I do agree about the points, given that they technically have an open date later in the year they could have come back on.

Onward though.

Three red flags in the first two sessions of practice today at the Dutch Grand Prix. Even with no rain in the forecast, they may have trouble getting the actual race done in three hours. I predict a minimum two red flags race day

Finally we get a race in after 5 weeks. Completely wrong about the red flags…heck, not even a real yellow. Fun track though. Hope they come back.

Nice track with elevation changes.

Loved Bottas's attempt at an FU.

Lewis's retort was amazing. I wish he would let his driving speak rather than his mouth.

Some off track drama and driver changes for 2022
Bottas to Alpha
Russell to Mercedes
Albon joins Williams, even after the Mercedes threat to try and block it.

Ok, some deep conspiracy predictions…I think that if the rumblings of VW getting into cooperation with Red Bull engines happens, it opens the opportunity for Red Bull to become a true engine supplier, especially to Williams. I do think Mercedes pulls their engine from Williams, with Albon being a Red Bull driver and all.

Just seeing this now. :)

Totally wrong decision.
My meaning was, right decision was made not to race that Sunday.
Should have postponed until Monday .
I don't disagree with you on this, but apparently doing so would not have given the TV crews enough time to travel and set up. For better or worse, TV contracts effectively control the sporting world nowadays.

I totally agree with you on that one.

I think they made the best they could of a bad situation.
