So who has seen "Madagascar," the latest computer animated film from Dreamworks?

I have, and I must say, it was quite a surprise. It was much better than I expected it to be. And very funny.

At one point in the movie, I was the only one in the virtually full theater that laughed at something, quite loudly. I think everyone laughed at me after that.

Anyone have a favorite scene? I liked when they were first escaping from the zoo (in the subways and such). Very funny.

LOVED IT!

Much funnier than I had ever imagined - especially for the adults!

There are some GREAT movie spoofs throughout the film, but my favorite was the "Planet of the Apes" scene ( I wont give it away here... )!!!

Also, the lemurs were funny!

All around fun film!

I saw it today with the kids. Definitely very funny and worth the time spent. The penguins do steal a lot of scenes. There were a lot of laughs in our theater over the Connecticut jokes (you'd have to live here to understand them).

Did anyone else notice the spoof of AK's Tree of Life?

I did not ever think that Dream works would Spoof the Tree of life a few times in the distant and forground of a movie about Amimals getting trapped in Africa.... Ever..

(there are a few of them..)

That's really odd that members of this board would like this movie. My son (4) wanted to see this for his birthday so we took him on Friday. About half way through the movie my wife and I looked at each other and said "You realize that this is 2 hours of our lives we can never get back, don't you" and both laughed. If I recall right, I think that is the only time we laughed during the entire movie. At least Chris Rock didn't spend the entire movie putting down "the man". Overall, we both gave this one an F grade and cannot recommend it to anyone. But, I guess different people like different things.

Really? To me it looks similar to Shark Tale, in that it is a very enjoyable hour and a half with plenty of laughs and that's that. Nothing that really sticks with you or nothing that you really want to see many more times. I wasn't too impressed with the trailer and I thought that I would like this about the same as Ice Age and Shark Tale. Maybe it will surprise me.

The Longest Yard is the movie to see right now though. I think it's Sandler's funniest film since Gilmore. I saw it twice last weekend.

While I loved Shark Tale as well, Madgascar was much better in many aspects....

Saw TLY yesterday and thought it was great as well. :)
