Oh, man! I'm getting too old for concerts, even for ones performed by members who are older than me....

OK, all you Durannies out there: The boys were in tune last night. They jammed at the Tabernackle in Atlanta, a small venue that used to be the House of Blues alittle while back, and sounded pretty good. A bit older, but not bad at all.

Roger Taylor was great on the drums, Andy Taylor was awesome on the ax, Nick was smooth on the keys, John Taylor kept the groove on bass, and Simon did his thing as FrontMan (altho he has lost alittle something in his pipes).

This was their set:

A VIEW TO A KILL
PLANET EARTH
HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF
COME UNDONE
WHAT HAPPENS TOMORROW
NEW RELIGION
IS THERE SOMETHING I SHOULD KNOW
BEAUTIFUL COLOURS
UNION OF THE SNAKE
WAITING FOR THE NIGHT BOAT
ORDINARY WORLD
SAVE A PRAYER
NOTORIOUS
GIRLS ON FILM
CARELESS MEMORIES
WILD BOYS
----
WHITE LINES
THE REFLEX
RIO

I haven't seen so many pregnant 30-something women dancing all together at the same place! My wife included....

The boys did themselves proud, especially when they did their encore. My ears are still ringing.

*Where's the freakin' aspirin?*

OMG! You were there too!!!! I wanted to go soooo bad :( . I accidently deleted my e-mail that had the presale code in it and well... I didn't go :( One of my students mom was there though. lol
Sounds like it was a great set. CARELESS MEMORIES has always been one of my favs. I wonder what's going on with Simon's throat lately. I hope it's nothing serious. I had read that he seems to "spit" alot during shows, and it had something to do with his throat. He was my favorite during the 80's, but the more I read about him, the more I'm not that hip on him (attitude).

I still have all my posters, books, buttons, records, ect of them from the 80's. How cool it would have been to see them in concert again now that they are back together.

Thanks for the report on the show. Sounds like you had a great time :)

I am soooo jealous, I think they are planning a tour over here next year and I can't wait! I would have been one of those pregnant dancing 30 somethings but I will have had the babe by then!

We saw them play at Downtown Disney a couple of years ago, (not the originals though) and they were fantastic.

Glad you enjoyed it :D

Well for all you Durannies still yearning to see them again, they're planning on another tour next year, in much larger venues. This tour is to celebrate their 25 year anniversary and they chose to only play in small places (about 2500 or so). Next year, they'll be hitting the road again to promote their new album.

Man, I wish you all could have been there. It was absolutely fantastic for the die-hard fans. Seeing all of them together for the first time in years was something else.

They didn't try to do anything fancy, or showy. Just jammed to their greatest for their fans. I don't think they let anyone down last night.

They were here last night. I didn't get to go; but I love(d) their music. Maybe next year, if they come back to N.O., I'll plan a girls night to see them (Boudreaux can't handle getting out of the swamp for pop music;) )

I didn't think Roger ever planned to return to performing. I'd love to see them now! I just couldn't bring myself to buy a ticket to see 2 or 3 of them when they were semi-Duran!

Here are some pics that the Atlanta Journal Constitution had on their site.

I saw at least four people in the audience have their recording devices taken away from them, including one who was taking a pic with her cellphone (I think).

OMG!! JOHN TAYLOR!! HE STILL LOOKS FABULOUS!!!!!!!!

Thank you Andy!!! :sohappy:

I think the camera thing depends on the venue. I know of people who had cameras taken away at one arena while I stood on my chair in the 7th row at the Meadowlands in NJ and snapped away~and it was the same tour! Thing to do is look at your tickets. If they dont say "NO cameras, camcorders or recording devices" then you are in the clear. If it DOES say this...well..thats why you have a Canon Elph  I also went to a concert where everyone had cameras and it was ok (Miracle on 34th at MSG). I had a little tape recorder in my pocket...and FORGOT to turn it on :(
