For Erika - mural examples

Erika,

I had promised to show examples of my mother's disney mural work.

Here are pictures of the work in progress my mother is doing for the grandchildren's playroom at her house in Abita Springs, LA.

I was finally able to get over there and get pictures this past weekend.

Some notes: The artwork being displayed by mickey and friends changes daily when the grandkids visit, they draw pictures which are then tacked onto the canvases that the characters are holding. The kids LOVE this.

The picture showing peter pan is the unfinished back wall for the stage I built the kids to play on in there.

Cinderella's castle is painted over the wall and door to the closet in the playroom, when the door opens, the inside of the door is painted as the other side of a castle door with cinderella's mice friends and a certain mean cat.

Cinderella is inside the closet (The kids use the closet as another playroom) as are snow white and the seven dwarfs.

My mother said she still has a ton of work to do on this and these are the roughs.

I thought you would be interested.

Those are some very lucky kids...hope they inherit some of that talent.

Wow, thanks guys :) I will be sure to pass on the compliments to my mother !

Some of the grandkids have inherited drawing talent. My mom teaches kids art too.

those are SO lovely! the shading and the blending are absolutely wonderful! my favorites are pluto and the girl from the Jungle Book...i just love how she made her dress look!

oh drat, I just got the "it's a small world" song stuck in my head again -- there goes the money I spent on therapy.

My office used to be located in the old town area of Slidell in the house everyone thought was haunted.

Well it was haunted, by me, I tended to work late into the night so the strange lights people would see flickering in the house was actually just me.

Wow... VERY small world at that! Where in Old Town was your office??
