FOP Fastpass 30 Days Out

A few in-the-know have suggested that part of the problem with FOP capacity is the 3rd theater going up and down a lot.. some days it's off some days it's on. Anyone else heard this...
There are 4 theaters and if one goes down it's crushing. The attraction either needs more seats or two more theaters.

Obviously on a new theater would help but with all that WDW has planned over the next 5 years its doubtful we'd get a new build. Besides by the time STGE, Toy, Rat, GotG & Tron open, it's likely we'll see much lower wait times. Besides wouldn't we prefer they spend the money on another attraction at AK versus expanding FOP anyway.

this ride will slow down in popularity (eventually) there are other more important attractions wdw needs

It has the lowest capacity of any E-ticket ride in WDW. Yes it's popularity will slow down, but it was an underbuilt ride, just like Frozen Ever After.

What E-Ticket rides don't have an hour+ queue?
Hour+ isn't the issue. If Flight of Passage has a one hour long queue it means that the park closed 45 minutes ago.

Imagineering has been underbuilding rides in recent history. What's worse is that they're clearly aware of what a D/E-ticket attraction needs for capacity having had to recently add capacity to Toy Story and Soarin'. Add in the fact that they also added capacity to a B-ticket 5 years ago (Dumbo) and it really is inexcusable.
  • Frozen Ever After should have been a new build. Maelstrom's ride system was never capable of satisfying demand for such a big franchise.
  • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was underbuilt both from ride time and capacity
  • Na'vi River Journey was underbuilt, but not as egregious as the others on this list. They probably should have had boats w/3 rows and adjusted the flow of the river accordingly. Alternatively, if they could dispatch 3 boats at once that may also work.
  • Flight of Passage was built with the assumption that cycle time would be similar to Soarin' with two theaters. Even if that held true that's still too low. It should have been built with either a different seating configuration or additional theaters.

I appreciate the fact that they added capacity to Dumbo. We can ride it now! It was never worth the hour long wait before. It doesn't matter if it's a B ticket or E ticket. If it's popular, it's popular!
