spray cheese
peanut butter
cashews!!
gummi bears
granola bars, Rice Krispie bars, Nutri-Grain, etc (good to put in a pak and take to the parks)
little chocolate donuts
Apple Cinnamon Cheerios (I love them dry as finger food)

Fresh fruit! Such as apples, bananas, oranges, grapes, etc that doesn't require much preparation or cutting.
Dried fruits! Such as apricots, raisins, apples. Buy the individual packs or divvy into small snack-size ziplock bags.
Nutrigrain bars (these tend to get smushed in packs, but are good for b'fast!)
Goldfish crackers
Nuts of any kind are a good protein and energy source (try roasted almonds!).
If you're planning to keep up the ice supply in the cooler or have a fridge (or mini-bar you can sneak stuff into), yogurt is a good breakfast item (add some granola for a bit of crunch).

Pop Tarts, Bagels (with or without cream cheese), croissants, cereal bars, granola bars, trail mix. These are a few easy breakfasts or snacks. I always stuck a few granola bars into my pack to give one of my kids when they claimed to be hungry (always right after eating lunch!). It would normally do the trick. We had a small frigde in our room and microwave (at BCV), so we also did cereal with milk for breakfast and even popped popcorn for a snack. :slurp:

Instead of packing water, I'd say buy sports bottles with Brita water filters attached. If necessary, buy 2 for each of you so you can always keep one "on ice" so they're cold.

And instead of soda, I'd consider buying a resort mug for the refills. Depending on how long your trip is (or how much soda/coffee you drink) this could be big savings, and you won't have to waste precious space in your cooler for these items.

Take along some bowls (disposable or washable) and you can have cereal every morning. Even if you have to buy milk on-site, it'll be cheaper than most breakfasts. Although in my opinion, you can always get a pretty cheap breakfast if you don't need a huge sit-down eggs-and-potatoes-and-some-kind-of-pork meal.

If you really want (or need) to save money:

Have breakfast in your room or grab a bagel or two on the go

Bring or buy fruit as a snack in the late morning/early afternoon.

Have as late of a lunch as you can stand so it's almost like an early dinner.

Have a snack or something light later at night.

Just remember to get enough sleep, and switch drivers every now and then. Always keep snacking on food and the passenger can always move their legs to make sure they dont fall asleep or when they get out of the car their legs dont buckle under them...

There are two things that you just need to think about...

Make sure you get things that you like and will be willing to eat on a regular basis for snacking and breakfast. Then you just have to make sure that it won't spoil easilly (or in the FL heat).

I would suggest ceral if you want breakfast in your room. You can buy whatevers on sale and just pick up some milk at your hotel...During the day at the parks DO NOT drink soda...it makes you swell up like crazy and you're more thirsty. Bring water bottles. When I've gone on cheerleading trips my mom and aunt made cookies and brownies that I brought down with me. So if you feel like baking do that. I like the little mini ceral bites with the frosting on top. If you have an mircowave or if you can bring a portable plug in teapot, bring oatmeal, farina, easy mac or my personal fav slimfast mac n cheese or fettucine alfredo! Rice krispies are always good too.....Oh you can get Ritz chips or baked potato chips and bring lil baggiies and fill them to bring around with you but the best bet would be ceral bars. Can you tell that I'm a college student yet? LoL

Water In the Park!

How about a case of water.

That a good idea but we learned a better way to do that. We got these wide mouth water bottles that have the screw on lids. They are made of that hard plastic that can get really hot or really cold. The lids we attached so we were able to clip they on our back packs. When ever we were somewere we could get ice we filled them up. As the ice melted we had cold water. Becase of the wide mouth we never had a problem filling it up!

*** note if you do this DO NOT use or ask for the ice in the carts, we found out from a CM that the ice is not sanitary. Of course that was after we had already gotten some eirler.. luckly we did not get sick! :) ***

I second this. The ice in the carts like squeeze breeze is definately not sanitary. The carts are not cleaned very often, just drained daily for the next batch of ice the next day. When I was a cast member, I'm not sure if our cart was ever cleaned. It was amazing the amount of people who would come and fill their water bottles or eat the ice straight from the cart (even after I would warn against it because the ice wasn't sanitary. some people just don't listen :hammer: ). You can get clean ice from the food stands, which would be much safer. That is what I always do and it works out quite nicely.
