We just got back from a quick trip. We did half the Food and Wine on Friday and then returned Sat. for the other half.

Saturday's are beyond crazy! I have been to EPCOT 3 different times on New Year's Eve and it wasn't that bad then it was on Saturday.

The food was awesome by the way.

Just a heads up try to avoid Saturdays

Yep evening, and in particular the weekend is very busy. Especially now as it is nearing the end and the weather is cooling off.

Expected because the weekend days running Fri - Sun brings in the crowds. All the crowd calendars have been showing maximum numbers for the EP F & W on the weekends.

You're not kidding. We were there a couple weeks ago on a Saturday for F&W and it was slammed packed. We really didn't mind because we totally expected it and just took our time. Grabbed some food from a few different countries and just enjoyed ourselves. It was especially nice to cool off in the Disney Visa break area in the US pavilion. Too bad that isn't opened year round.

It was about a 45 minute to get up to the Visa Break area in America. That was going to be a fall back plan.

I was in Epcot the first Saturday of this year's F&WF. I knew it would be crowded, so I didn't plan on doing any booths that night. What I didn't expect was that the massive crowds made even moving from place to place difficult. I wanted to go up to France for a glass of wine before dinner, but it took way too long. And then there was a 30 person line in front of the wine kiosk - madness!!!

I agree 100% with OP, we were there 10/16 and 17, Friday and Saturday. Friday was great, crowded but manageable. Saturday was a totally different story. So crowded we left from about 2pm-6:30pm, did the Monorail Pub Crawl and returned. After 8:30pm on Saturday it seemed to quiet down and we were able to get to a bunch of booths before closing. Next year it's Tuesday, Wednesday for us

We went to Epcot on a Saturday a few weeks ago - totally crazy. I expected crowds, but we couldn't move. The wait to get into the Visa lounge was even pretty long as others have said. We opted to go back to the resort to swim after a little bit. Went back to Epcot on Monday and it was much better. Still crowded, but way way better.

OP if you went on Saturday 10/24 that was easily the busiest I've ever seen the World Showcase. I walked in through the front gate, walked to the WS, headed right towards Canada and thought it was way too packed that way to continue, so I decided to try going the other way towards Mexico. I hadn't even made it to that bridge when I decided to head for the exit instead. I knew I wasn't going to enjoy myself with the crowds I saw, so I headed home.

Is it possible that the F&W Festival has become a victim of its own success? We've done a couple mid week visits this year and it was crowded but you could still move and the waits at booths were manageable. Did a Saturday a couple weeks ago and it was super busy. Easily 40-50 people in line at most booths. It was literally a complete standstill at the usual pinch points by Mexico and between England and the bridge. We just rolled with it and did some serious people watching.

it's also the 20th anniversary of the festival. don't know if that plays a factor. it was a bit busy yesterday too. some lines longer than others. Canada & Hawaii were very popular.

My memory of Food & Wine on a Saturday.... We only go during weekdays, or early afternoon since this trip in October 2012(4:30 in the afternoon 10/12/12)

This is why nothing will ever improve at Epcot. Why should Disney do anything, the booze brings in the crowds, they'll just lengthen the F&W. And now that free parking is included at all levels of APs, it's going to get a lot worse IMO.

We just got back from a Tuesday-Monday trip. We intentionally planned Epcot for Thursday (10/15). We started on the Canada side around noon. Nothing major, crowd-wise. By the time we worked our way around to Mexico (4-ish), there was a noticeable uptick in "oncoming traffic", but still manageable. On Sunday, I wanted to run back to France and grab something for Monday. Got to the front gate around 4:30-ish. Future World was busy, but WS was approaching sardine levels of packed.

I want to start off by saying that I can party with the best of them, but this was beyond ridiculous! I was there on Saturday 10/17/15 and yes the park was crowded but manageable, but the drinking was totally out of control. We came out of La Hacienda around 8pm and witnessed what appeared to be a 30something year old female face plant - stand back up with a busted chin - and howling with laughter - it scared a few kids nearby that I can only assume with her screaming laughter or the blood dropping off her face. Before dinner, we saw someone puking their guts out in the rose bushes. I saw numerous shirts that declared "Drink, drank, drunk" - "If I'm still standing, hand me another drink" or probably the most inventive of the day "EPCOT stands for Every Person Comes Out Trashed". Again, I'm not a prude by any stretch of the imagination, but I never thought I would witness this type of behavior at Disney or with children nearby. Just my .02
