The Incredible Schmulk

Meh. Completely missed that Kona has two beers at the Hawaii booth. So it makes sense that they are there and not at the Craft Beer booth. (Even though that Kona was probably brewed in NH and not Hawaii)

I did like when Louisiana/New Orelans booth a few years back had Abita.

Sadly I think WDW has to do a balancing game. Yeah there are plenty of amazing craft/micro breweries. But they need to find someone who has a reliable distribution network, and can ensure a pretty decent amount of kegs going to FL. So sadly that sticks with more of the larger craft brewers. According to Wiki, the American Brewers Association defines craft as under 6,000,000 barrels per year. And that in 2010 Sierra Nevada made 768,000 barrels. So they actually still count. But yet, they are the 6th largest brewery in the US, third in craft only to Samuel Adams and Yuengling at 2,500,000 barrels each. So the ABA pretty much tags everything that isn't BMC as craft.

Well, what the ABA considers craft and what I can consider craft are two completely different animals. I mean, Dogfish Head supplies their 60-Minute IPA to Disney for their lounge menus, how hard would it be to secure something from them to include in the Craft Beer booth? I thought that the inclusion of Full Sail's two Session Lagers (Standard and Black) two years ago was a stroke of brilliance. Last year's inclusion of Sunset Ale was also a nice touch. I'll even give them a nod for including a few Florida brews among the booths this year. They get it right sometimes, but they have missed more than hit over the last two years, and this year is worse than last.

Maybe next year they'll come to me. I can give them suggestions for a wide variety of tastes, all of which could and should have the supply chain to keep Disney in business.

Oh, and on a personal note, I really dislike Leinenkugel beers. I know that they're a big deal in the upper Midwest, but I think their fruity brews are pretty gross.

Pretty much agree on all accounts. Whenever I am traveling someplace new or outside my norm, I always poke my head around and ask what is local. I'd love to offer my input, however I don't know if a lineup leaning towards stouts and barleywines would go over well with most of America.

Heck, New Belgium (not available in FL), Brooklyn, Left Hand, or crikies, even Long Trail are a bit more craft but still definitely able to meet demand. Dogfish Head would be a solid choice, and until I saw that AB owned all of Goose Island I would have said rock them.

Seriously, stick with your Moosehead and Sam Boston at the country booths, but one dedicated to craft beer, live a little bit. Get some real craft in.

And no need to drink the fruity pebble beer, agreed.

I say go with the greek salad or the greek cheese or the chicken.... I saw that too, at those prices, I could have Oikos yogurt delivered to my resort LOL
Really, everything at the Greece booth is good. Even though I love yogurt, I would choose any of the other food offerings over Oikos.

I really want to taste that cheese and pistachio thingy!!! There I go again, me and my cheese! LOL
The saganaki is quite good. They used a salty sheep's milk cheese. We thought it was pretty heavy compared to the other Greek options, but we both really enjoyed it. You have to time it right, though. I can imagine this one being a disaster if it's been sitting too long. You want it fresh from the griddle.

Thank Goodness, DH eats more than I do LOL. This, a man who won't eat shell fish from the kiosks, will eat anything we get, straight away!!! LOL

Not full on vegan, just vegetarian, but I'm happy to see at least an effort to have some sort of non animal protein available. But they also seemed to use the fact they now have a vegan booth as a cop out for all veggie meals. I think I counted 2 choices listed (outside of desert) that doesn't include meat at the other booths.
Yeah, I thought that might happen. It's a shame, too. I'm not a vegetarian, but sometimes I'll opt for a veggie dish just because I want lighter fare.

This is actually better than in the past. I counted 7 veggie options other than dessert not including the new booth, this is about the same as last year. I went last year and am a vegan there was zero options for me. Not even the ones labeled Veg. They all had dairy or egg. I wish i could go this year. Im hoping the booth is a success and they will expand upon it next year :). Its all about the slow steps forward.
