for table serve meals make sure to note on ressie. then remind at checkin if not asked about. at counter serve, ask about what fits your needs and ask to see ingredent book or info. we had peanut allerg. in our group. from our trip, ts really worked with you, chef came to table to talk with child and parent, even made special bread and dessert when needed.

Almost everywhere! I cannot have gluten (celiac disease). Dining in WDW was the absolute best dining out experience for me anywhere. At each sit down meal, the chef would visit our table after we sat down. If it is a meal-order restaurant, he/she would review the menu with me, and help me to decide on a dish and how it would be modified (if necessary).

At the counter service places, I would alert the cashier about my needs before ordering, and they would bring out a manager with a book containing the ingredient lists of everything at that location. They would let me look at the lists of the items I was considering. Also, many locations have gluten free alternatives (tapioca rolls, wheat-free chicken tenders, etc.); Pinnochio Village Haus serves Amy's gluten free pizza. I never had a problem finding a meal at any location; the only glitch I ran into was at Hollywood Studios - we were eating on Sunset Blvd, and the first spot I tried didn't work for me (wanted a veggie burger but it has wheat in it) - the manager asked what I'd like from another spot, and since I was ordering from the first spot for my family, he went and had my meal prepared at the other spot and brought it to me. Wonderful service.

Make sure you email special diets, they will send you many helpful documents listing the allergy free foods available at the different locations throughout WDW. Have a great trip - there's no better place to eat and feel safe than at Disney!

Definitely contact the dietary line as mentioned above. Every TS restaurant should be able to accommodate you with at least 24 hours advance notice of the allergy. Have them note it on your reservations. Gluten & Dairy are fairly common, so you should have at least a few choices of things to eat. The dietary line should be able to provide you with a listing of food that the vendors have confirmed is gluten free throughout the parks. That is usually pretty current, but feel free to ask to talk to the chef. They will usually come out and walk you through the menu/buffet and let you know what they can prepare special if nothing is listed that you can eat. Check out http://glutenfreedairyfreewdw.blogspot.com/ for a decent blog covering their experiences at restaurants around the world. CS will be your hardest thing to deal with and may end up taking a bit of time while the chef checks the labels of the packages as I have found they tend to not know what is in their food nearly as well as the TS ones. Overall though you can definitely find a fair amount of choices to eat, just make sure to do your research in advance.

i have to agree that you'll be happy everywhere! my fiancee has celiac as well and we atel anywhere we wanted. just either have disney dining make a note when taking the reservation or tell the host/hostess or server. my fiancee particularly impressed with the california grill, where the chef not only came out and asked what she was thinking of ordering and explained the minor substitutions he'd make, but even brought out gluten free rolls and a separate butter dish to make sure there wasn't any cross contamination.

the only spots you may struggle is counter service, but you can always usually work around that with a salad or something without wheat flour.

I really don't think you'll have too much trouble. E-mail Special Diets and they will be able to send you some info. They gave us ingredient labels on a lot of their special allergy foods so we could see what would work for us and what restaurant had what. The staff at Columbia Harbor House was very nice and brought our food up to us because the "allergy-free" chicken fingers had to be made fresh.

Also, every counter service place should have an ingredient book that you can ask to see if you're not sure what you can order.

Disney really is the best!!! I had teh chef do the same thing for me at 'Ohana. I have a slight allergy to egg and I was shocked at how much attention they gave to me! It's reason like this that I continue to go back year after year!
