Hi! I am a traditional scrapper who never really used to use a computer in my scrapping. However, I struggle with titles on my pages. I do stamp, so I have several alphabet sets, and I use stickers and rubons as well. Ocassionally, I'll even handwrite a title. When I go to crops, I use another lady's cricut.
I am toying with the idea of finding free fonts on my laptop and printing out my own titles. The only problem is how? My laptop is very basic right now. I basically use it for the internet and music, so I didn't purchase Word.
How do I go about using free fonts. Obviously I need to purchase a printer, but do I need some kind of Document program? What works best? Sorry if these are dumb questions, I've just never delved into this arena of scrapping before! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you got photoshop? I don't really use word at all. If you don't have photoshop, have a look at their website - I think they offer a free trial.

Hmmm, I would think you'd need some sort of word processing program or Photoshop to use fonts. You might try Open Office and see if it will work for you. It's a free download that simulates the Microsoft Office suite. I've never used it, but I've heard others talk about it.

thanks, girls. no I don't have photoshop, but I was thinking about checking out the free trials of programs to see what I like. I'll check out Open Office. Thanks again.

I print titles and journaling (on the rare occasions I journal ) all the time. It's a great option. I think everyone else is right, you'll need a word processing program to use the free fonts. I hope you find one easily.

There are some great free Disney fonts out there.

I'm on a mac, but I dip into the design field occasionally and I love typefaces. I'm not sure how it works on windows, but you should have a program called WordPad already installed. Check it out, if you have Vista, I'm sure it's there. With wordpad already installed, there will be no need for you to download any extra applications for simple rich text editing.

A great free font website is dafont. I use it a lot. http://www.dafont.com

thanks, Mark, I do have WordPad! Yay! That's a big help.

Edit: Mark, I tried both WordPad and the font website...it worked! Thanks!
