Screamscape put up a rumor today claiming that to compliment HHN next year, there will be a Mickey's Not So Scary-esque event done at Islands of Adventure, to accompany the "more family friendly" themes of IoA.

Personally, I think it's a great idea. I wouldn't go to it over HHN, but it would definitely give a Halloween option to families with younger kids at UO.

Very cool.

Now, I wish that they would do the reciprocal at Disney.:D

Universal seems to pride itself on being the opposite of fairytales and princesses, so I'd be very surprised if they did this.

I bet this'd be great. They could bring out the Marvel Villains (Doom, Green Goblin, etc.) in Marvel, the Toon Lagoon villains (Snidely Whiplash, Bluto, etc.), Dementors, The Grinch, even Voldemort in all their respective lands. Add in some of the old HHN lighting, fog, and lasers, along with a fireworks show and trick-or-treating, and you've got some family Halloween entertainment.

You can make a family-friendly Halloween night event without it being fairytales and princesses. Disney did it with The Nightmare Before Christmas. And there are plenty of movies kids find scary. They'd just lay off the slashers and viscera.
