Florida Locals?

I consider myself a local even though I live in Naperville Illinois...

Why? Because my thoughts are never that far away from thinking about WDW. If I said I haven't hummed the Illuminations or Tapestry of Nations song everyday, I'd be lying.

I would like to move down, but it depends on my wife finding a decent job. Lake Mary seems like a nice place to live.

We're Florida locals - *waves from Tampa* - but *sniffle* we aren't passholders at the moment. We used to be, but then our car took a big crap and now it's barely running and we can't subject it to every-other-weekend drives on I-4 anymore. So, no reliable transportation to Orlando, no sense in being passholders.

Which stinks! I don't get to go very much anymore at all! I haven't gone since New Year's Eve! *gasps* A sin, isn't it? ;)

I'm from Boston originally as well, but have been an Orlando resident since October. I'm considering going to MK on Friday morning if I have the chance since I promised I would check something for someone.

I think of myself as an "almost local" - I live only 29 miles from the Florida state line and my dad grew up only 30 or so miles from Orlando in the town of Tavares (my Grandma and a couple aunts/uncles still live in the area). I'm hoping to go down for a day next week or the week after, and then for a few days in May or maybe June. Just never a weekend though (weekends are my busiest times of the week)

Preach on Number_6, i'm a nice Florida local. And I come from NY!

I also would love to do a meet. I moved from NY back in Jan. 2001. And I guess just recently as last year had been trying to do a meet on DisneyForever.com, but some people lived too far, didn't have time, had something planned. I never hear the end of it. So I'm pretty much fed up with the crap, so I was hopeing to do a WDW Meet with you guys. My job allows me to go to WDW every other weekend. That means I get every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday off. So, is it ok if I can join you on this meet?

Ok, so who's going to get the loan for me? 'Cause it ain't me and my {utter and complete bad} of credit! *chuckles*

Trust me, I've been driving a beater without a/c for over two years. It's not for lack of wanting a new car!

Ybor is fun... but then again, WDW doesn't have a crack ghetto next literally to it. I'm scared to go to Ybor cause if I get lost as I leave, I'm scared to become a statistic.

Cant argue with you on that. Ever walk nnear the St Pete Times forum with a zillion dollars of camera gear at 1am aback to a parking garage? Its no fun either.

Dude, anytime you want to meet up, I''m cool with it. This weekend isn't too bad, but Sunday I'm off to see the Devil Rays/Red Sox game. There's a chance of Schilling pitching that day too. :D

how do you think I felt when I got lost there in the Purple Chevy with Michigan Tags. I'm not a very religious man, but god was with me that day

Steroids? Crack maybe! *laughs* Last time I was there (a friend from Philly wanted to go out for a night so we all took our life in our hands, er, drove over to Ybor), we're standing on a second-floor balcony over looking the street. A fight breaks out (big surprise) one guy drops his gun and it skids across the pavement (even bigger surprise). Thankfully, no shots fired, but still....it wasn't exactly an uncommon sight for the place!

I'll stick to tame, mild, PI with it's expensive foo-foo drinks and lack of shootings. Heh.

This sounds like a good idea. I've never actually attended a meet, since I lived in Tallahassee. Now that I live in Orlando it could easily be worked into my schedule. I know I've probably walked by some people on here, especially since I have a seasonal pass now, but it would be cool to hang out too. Also, if you're ever near the Swan, stop by the front desk and say hello. The nametag says Todd and I work the 3-11pm shift! Just say you're from WDWMAGIC...hehe.

Most any Saturday in the early afternoon if you lurk around Snow White's Scary Adventures you are bound to bump into my son Benjamin and I. He'll be the one that gets off the ride and runs back to get on it again. And again. And again. Feel free to say hi!

What part? And remember to us Long Islanders, anything past White Plains is essentially Canada and NOT New York
