FOP and FJ are completely different experiences. I think Orlando might have the two best attractions in the world. Shanghai Pirates might have a say though..

Regarding FoP FP, just keep trying. People may have the courtesy to cancel. I got two for one of our rides the night before.

Seating arrangement for the FOP is different than HP. HP is more real movement; the car moves through the ride. FOP is all screen-generated. I would rate both line queues about the same. Disappointed in HP during my last visit. Hologram images in the two rooms were not clear, and the sound was not audible. Snowfall in the laboratory also didn't happen all of the time. We waiting in that room about 1/2 hour in line while the ride was down and got to see that scene about ten times !
