Does this mean they are going to be used and they are moving forward with the technology of implementing your name? Or, just uncovered for no good reason?

I think the tin foil hat brigade killed off a lot of the ideas of the ride saying goodbye [NAME]. Although ET has been doing it for 25 years, but then as you give the name in the queue I guess you could decline, whereas a name on a MagicBand is locked in.

Personally I love the idea of more personalisation, just add a tick box to MDE to opt out of your first name and celebration being used in the parks for those who don't want iptheir name being used.

Ughh... I just hate this... MY NAME IS KEVIN!!! See, no one took my children just by seeing my name (Jenna and Kayleigh by the way). Privacy has gone completely over board. There are things in this world that are simply not private, and make no difference to the rest of us. Are you that full of yourselves to think that I give a flying #@&^#%$ that the person in the boat in front of me's name is Babbet, or Mary, or Jorge. Now it it said "Good Bye Mary, enjoy your whips and chains tonight" or "Good Bye Mary from Main Street, Milwaukee, WI" then yes, you might have a point. But your name isn't private, and isn't a big secret.

Here are some pics that I have from back in March. This is one of the signs in question. I believe there are about four of them, one on the left side and two or three on the right side. I'll have to dig further back in my archives to see if I have any pics of them back when they were actually displaying the digital images for a short time. Then these boards were placed onto of the screens. The below pics show the front and side/back angle of the screen and housing.

The first three pics are front the left side of the "good bye room".

In this pic the two yellow circled signs are digital with a sign sitting on top, blocking the screen. The teal circle could be as well, I don't remember. This view is looking to the right side of the good bye room.

Don't worry, I was not driving when I took these pics. LOL

I think it would be awesome if it tossed our names up there. Bye Kevin! Adios Kevin! would be neat. Isn't there some sort of opt out on MDE for those who don't want anyone knowing they are in the parks.
